Re: Speculation : Hot Toys Disney+ Figures "The Mandalorian" + "Cassian" + "Kenobi"

I want a dark trooper. And Boba! Hope the costume change in the next chapter, adding a flight suitor anything other than rags. And also, need a scale model or replica of the Slave I, like the old Code 3 version. We all been waiting a long time for these two to return.

I hope he keeps the same look as he had in this episode personally. We've already had two (three if you count the Kenner) versions of Boba Fett with his more iconic look, time for something new.

A figure of him in just his robes would look great.

Re: Speculation : Hot Toys Disney+ Figures "The Mandalorian" + "Cassian" + "Kenobi"

He is a dead man. The Slave 1 will now be the Slave 2. I think there is a reason they haven't shown his sarlaac pit escape, they are saving it for his spinoff to take place immediately following his survival.

I think all bets are off regarding the ship.

My initial thought was that Mando may end up with Slave 1. But also think there's no chance Boba would simply give it to him.

Killing Boba off would also be a gutsy move by Faverau + Filoni. However it is potentially possible. That's some pretty dramatic effect.

How old is he at this point ?

I only say this because he'll have his prequel show with xxx seasons. So we'll still get plenty of Boba.

But as I said, all bets are off as far as old man Fett in Mando.

Either way, whatever they do I'm sure it'll be excellent.

Re: Speculation : Hot Toys Disney+ Figures "The Mandalorian" + "Cassian" + "Kenobi"

That escalated quickly...

I would just simply refer to Boba as a practical bounty hunter trying to make his way into the universe. And most of the time, crime syndicate like the Hutts or the Empire pay exceptionally well.

Yes it did. ;)

I'm not arguing about his personal code or his pragmatism.

If you go work for a Mexican Drug Cartel today, when you could have easily done something else, what does that say about you? While you're hanging out at a nice hacienda with a bunch of violent criminals, the syndicate boss gets publicly rebuffed by a woman he's most likely enslaved and made to dance for him. So he feeds her to his pet crocodile. You've just delivered a smuggler that owed him money. Washed your hands of it, no matter that said smuggler will likely be tortured and killed. You're gonna hang out a while, see a live band, have a few drinks, see if there's more business to be had. Maybe next week you're gonna go work for a genocidal warlord in a neighbouring country, to track down a pesky rebel he's got some kind of obscure beef with.

You take deals and promises seriously, by the way. You have a 'personal code of honour'.

Are you a bad guy?

Hannibal was at worst an antihero. I say that because many if not most of those he killed were criminals with histories of truly heinous acts. If they died, no problem. One could almost say Lecter was performing a public service, altho admittedly that takes the analogy a bit far.

You're quite forgiving of the said psychopath. The same one that strung up a cop and disemboweled him, cut another one's head open and ate his brains in front of him, and cut a presumably innocent and law-abiding dude's face off to escape a facility he was being held in? The one that cut the femoral artery of a random person he noticed following him and quietly left to die? The one who was happy to feed human brains to a child on a plane?

It's been years since I saw those films so tell me if I'm wrong about that.

(...) So if you decide to stiff your mortgage holder, its ok because your bank is not in a position to enforce the law? Nah. They just call in those who do.

It's not okay to stiff your mortgage holder, but this is not what we're discussing and never has been. Look at the scenario and the question I posed to DarkChocobi above. And in the case of Boba Fett, it's not hypothetical. It's literally a day in the life.

So was Solo. He just got a pass because of his boyish charm and devil-may-care attitude. Lets be honest here.

But this is not about Solo, whom I have nonetheless labeled as a drug runner and a thief, who also worked for a Vile Gangster and is a casual killer to boot, although it can be argued we haven't seen him kill anyone other than vile criminals and fascist soldiers.

My point is code or no code, regardless of how he sees himself, Boba Fett is evil.

Solo is an interesting point. He at least *was* evil to a degree in ANH. Whether or not you can come back from various degrees of evildoing is a philosophical discussion even further outside the scope of what's already gone wildly off-topic (sorry guys!) ... Boba Fett's day-in-the-life as sketched out above remains cut and dry.

Star Wars is capable of 'redeeming' Vader so it's possible that's what's planned for Boba Fett.

Define "evil" though, sure Boba Fett can be cruel and ruthless when he has to be, that's how he earned his reputation as the best bounty hunter during the reign of the Empire, but does that make him straight-up evil? I don't think it's that cut and dry really.
The only character in Star Wars that has been 100% straight-up evil with no morals or inner conflict has been Palpatine (and Snoke I guess but he was just a puppet for Palpatine to play with).

I've been trying to define evil for several posts now. I think Boba Fett is evil by definition of the choices he makes.

  • He chooses to associate with vile beings.
  • He chooses not to intervene with his formidable skills.
  • He chooses by way of contract employment, to further the agendas of vile beings.

This isn't like choosing not to buy Fairtrade coffee, it's much more concrete.

"What? You just fed that dancing girl to a monster because you don't understand consent? Cool, whatever. I'ma watch the band."

No one has yet answered the real-life example and question I posed to DarkChocobi a few posts up. I hear a lot about earning a living, personal codes and mortgages, but no one has directly addressed the Space Slug in the room.

He was 10 years old in Attack of the Clones, so that would make him around 41-42 in Mando season 2. About the same age as Din, and younger than Ahsoka. I guess the explanation for him looking older is acid damage.

P.s. stop killing Boba off Aussie!

Haha. Ok 41-42 he's got plenty of life left and stories then......but does Temora Morrison ? [emoji12]

I would assume a Boba from Mandalorian is guaranteed from Hot Toys at some point.

I think the Dark Troopers would also be something that would sell well for them.

I dunno, those Maoris are made out of strong stuff. If all else fails they could just clone him.

Or give him mechanical legs + guts. [emoji2]

Just messin with you. I hope they don't kill him off either. Just anything could happen really at this point.

I guess we'll know in 2 weeks.

I feel he's being groomed as Mando's main sidekick for season 3, so I don't think he'll bite the bullet... yet. I think he'll replace Grogu for parts of next season, as I don't think they'll manage to retrieve him in the next couple of episodes. I do think there'll be a bit of a GOT-style cull in this final battle though. I could see Thrawn turning up and blowing the **** out of Gideon, taking Grogu, and setting up the Ahsoka show.

Who'll die in the final showdown? My guess...

1) Greef Carga
2) Mayfeld (this one's kind of obvious)
3) Gideon
4) One or two of the Night Owls (not Bo)

Not to pull a Maverick in Top Gun, but Mando can be Boba's sidekick... :wink1:

I?m still trying to figure out Fennec. So was she part droid to begin with or was a humanoid and Boba saved her my now making her part droid

Humanoid. She was shot in the gut and left for dead. Boba apparently saved her - sort of like Luke getting a new hand, her intestines got replaced with cyber parts. How Boba pulled that off is unknown. Maybe same folks that helped him after the Sarlacc as his face looks scarred up.

Personally very happy she's back, and the team-up works. Mando telling her to go as he "owes her for the last time" was a nice touch IMO. That code of honor. Cool back to back fighting guess I can pose figs that way.

She was supposed to be turned in alive, except Toro was a weasel. Plus like the look they gave her. She's gonna be excellent on the shelf.

She's a human, she was saved using cybernetics. She's not a droid at all.

Do you know something we don't ?

But I agree she would look good on the shelf. Like I've said before, I'd even be ok with a helmeted version.

Honestly, I may have to cut down my collection to just Clone Wars and Mandalorian stuff, since I only have two detolfs worth of space :lol
