Hot Toys DX 03 speculation...

It does seem likely that at least one head in any DX set will include PERS or lights or something besides just being a standard head with paint.

I'm curious what a non-TDK DX will be like, in terms of base, packaging, maybe future bases won't light up necessarily, the TDK base design reflects the prop costume display when the film came out.

Except that not many people would buy it.

Sure not as many as the overhyped TDK, but with him being an icon in his own right, and arguable the most popular character from the film, it makes more sense than anybody from Terminator, Rambo, Rocky or a Predator. Doing the older costume would give him even more appeal too.

Well, the fact that the film didn't do too well and that most people didn't even know about Watchmen before it, I don't think so.

Rambo never translated as something I loved as a kid and now love as an adult.... Rambo 3 was on the other day and I just find myself laughing through the whole thing as opposed to when I was a kid and Rambo was all kinds of awesome. Anyway, seems like lots of folks want a Rambo DX so if HT does make one I hope everyone likes it....

i know everybody wants a Rambo but maybe they could give us a DX Neo complete with his outfits from Matrix 1 and 2, base could be the fight scene with all the Agent Smith's or lobby scene, accesories could be his rifle, uzi, pistol, and lamp pole.

now that would be awesome, they made a big fuzz about adquiring the matrix licence and have only released the sentinel

perhaps a scar predator from AVP , the AVP predators are ok but dont look as good as the new ones

It might be a longshot, but I'm hoping for Rorschach. He could come complete with Rorscach suit and either street clothes or prison uniform. Accessories would include several masks for different "expressions," meat cleaver, grappling gun, pan of boiling oil, "End is nigh" sign and can of beans.
Nite Owl could be DX 04 with regular suit and cold weather gear.

This is the problem when people try to apply their personal opinions to facts. The film did plenty well enough. I'd say it not only did well enough, especially given the character in question, to justify a DX. Considering the graphic novel was on the New York Times' Best Sellers list, I'd say plenty of people knew about it both before and moreso after.

But the past 2 DX have been from The Dark Knight - maybe a Two-Face/Dent DX? Now THAT would be disappointing.

They did say BD Iron Man was to be a DX figure but timing would have overlapped their Iron Man 2 efforts so they put out what they had as a BD variant, so I don't think the next DX will be TDK.

Based on the reactions I've seen, seems like people would be frustrated to get a DX Comedian with no Rorshach or other figures showing up from Watchmen before it.

I would love to see a Robocop DX since I think a lot of us missed out on the initial release and do not want to pay 400+ for the original. I would love to see him come with 2 alternate heads(final battle with PERS(very easy to hide the compartment for the PERS), helmet wearing head, 2 alternate helmets(1 BD, 1 clean), alternate Chest Armor(1 clean, 1 bullet ridden with Bdoddickers Blood) Alternate Extremity Armor Pieces(Arms, Legs(clean and damaged, handgun, Cobra Assault Cannon, 2 Neural Spike hands(1 bloody, 1 clean, and as a sideshow exclusive maybe either a stack of baby food jars or the drill to take off his helmet.

Howard said in an magazine interview (not milk) that HT will start taking pre-order a new MJ figure this month (or march), may be thats the new DX.

And? We got a Predator 2 with no Harrigan, didn't get the complete set of Marines, several incarnations of Aliens, yet only one Ripley, a Batman but no Gordon, etc. That doesn't mean anything. Frustration doesn't equal unsellable and I suspect they'd be announcing this just about the time the Comedian starts shipping.

Who knows, maybe it's a Comedian without the silly-assed smile and with either his bath robe or the classic costume with a younger head. That makes more sense than anything else brought up here.

Out of all the possibilities brought up in this thread this one is the least likely. Sorry Watchmen fans...Watchmen figures just don't sell.

Yeah, but for the Comedian to warrant another figure, he would not only need to be popular, but very popular. People who like the Comedian have a figure already. How many of those like him enough to get a second? How many people didn't buy one but would if he had extra DX goodies? Some, but not as many as would buy a Rorschach if he was released for the first time. I don't know for certain, but I would personally guess that Rorschach is the most popular character from the film, and to get 2 Comedians before one Rorschach or Night Owl would not be a wise move, IMO. Surely, Rambo, Rocky, Terminator, Superman, Robocop, and innumerable others would sell better than a DX Comedian. Would just seem like a very strange choice to me at this point.

As for the other lines, some of that (Glover, Weaver, Oldman) probably had to do with a lack of likeness rights. Paxton and Weaver from Aliens look so bad, that I'm guessing they didn't allow their likeness rights at all. We know (or at least there is heavy speculation) that Oldman wouldn't allow it.

I brought this up (Gordon) in another post and said wouldn't it be sweet if it was Gordon and a batsignal. I would flip out to have a 1/6 scale batsignal!

My guess is it's going to be Iron Man. All the buzz will be there with IM2 releasing and they have all the pieces in place. A Tony portrait and suit and then an Iron Man with a light up base.

I know a lot of people that already have the IM's wouldn't be super happy to hear that announcement but it would please me as I don't have any and plan on only picking up one. A DX would be perfect for me, that and a War Machine.
