I'm talking about human figures in the SW line. I think the Emperor was the last, and he was announced in 2009.

Besides, Joes aren't based on real people. The sculpts look great, but there's nothing to compare them to.

And Boba Fett doesn't have a human sculpt... unless I missed that somewhere.

He may have been the last I'd have to check.

They are still using human form when making them so they count. Plus most of them are loosely based on real folks. Not having them be straight from an actors likeness doesn't mean they don't count as humans. :dunno

No, but they've done plenty of Clone sculpts the last year. Even a brand new one for Gree at SDCC. He's got a real likeness to be compaired to :dunno

Yes. Clones. They have the Clones down since they've done so many of them. And it's not like there's a ton of scrutiny over Morrison's sculpt compared to someone like Ford or Hamill.

What other human character have they done, or even hinted at, since the Emperor?

I'm talking about likeness, here, Josh. Not whether they're human or not.

I feel like I'm talking to a brick wall. :lol

Gotta disagree on this one, Nam. Just because it doesn't light up at the reveal doesn't mean they didn't show it because it won't have that feature. Just look at the Burton Batmobile prototype. It didn't have working lights yet, and, I'd think that the R&D involved in making something as small as a 1/6 lightsaber glow would be even more difficult to get ready than the electronics for something as massive as the Batmobile.

No, but for the Batmobile, they certainly made it a point to confirm that the finished product would have working lights. I think they would've done the same with the saber. Especially given that's MediEnterfails only selling point. :lol

Aside from the Clones, I don't think they have done any 'real' 'human' sculpts since the Emperor and I'm not sure I'd call him 'human' either. Ian had as much crap on his face as some of the alien characters :lol

Not sure if they've teased anything 1:6 lately, but at least their PF Tarkin looks great :hi5:

Lee, they just got the DC license. They haven't had time to work on anything 1:6 yet. They were working on that Joker for over 2 years before his reveal. He was made to basically show DC what they could do with the license. So they were able to kick of the DC license with an actual prodcut because of that. But things will slowly start happening now for the other lines under the DC license.

Kinda funny considering Ive guess the DX Indy, DX Sparrow, Classic Predator, Superman, Gantry, Jake Sully, and Iron Mongers within $10. And you have no clue how long I've been collecting.

Two complete DXs in one box? So? Again I bring up, DX 04 SS exclusive, was that not two full DXs? With special muscle bodies no less! Two true type bodies dont warrant $400.

Again, until HT proves me wrong I don't see this being $400. Is anything possible? Sure, hell some of you might as well guess $500 then, since OMG, it's Star Wars.

I'm with Rzeznikk on this one. The fact that people are comparing this to Iron Monger or the Gantry? Huh? Have you seen how much engineering is involved in those? How many dies they'd have to tool just to create all the individual pieces to create those figures/displays? Those are elaborate works of pop art that cost a pretty penny just to create. Bespin Luke, even with two full bodies, is a guy in a suit x2 with bases that are essentially (very nice) solid hunks of plastic. Even the costumes are the same out x2 (one distressed, one not), kinda like the blood spattered pieces that come with Sweeney Todd. Luke doesn't have the amount of super-fine detail work and light-up bases that SSC's Boba Fett and IG-88 have (each of which come in at under $200, even with LFL licensing). And the HT SW figs are supplemental to the SSC line, they are NOT trying to compete; SSC holds the license and HT is interpreting a character that's already been done by SSC, so that whole "HT must create super-expensive ultra collectibles so as not to compete with SSC" argument doesn't really hold water.

But they haven't showed us shat! I'll believe it when I see it.

SSCs has a history of saying one thing and doing another.

:lecture:lecture:lecture Last year they said they were still doing 1/6 Indy figures. They overemphasized it so much that both Josh and Carl swore we'd be seeing them. That has yet to materialize as well. Add The Dead to that list too. Despite statements and rumors to the contrary, all they've been pumping out is polystone.

As BM said they just announced it and are already working on 1:6th figures. This is one of those things going to comic-con and talking with the folks actually makes me know what I'm talking about and not just talking out my backside.

So when are those Indy figures gonna pop out of your backside? :tap :nana:

Until this SDCC I would have agreed with you. But SDCC showed SSC's refocus on 1:6. Tons of new stuff from Droids to huge Environements. They aren't leaving 1:6 anytime soon now.

:exactly::goodpost:

SSC still has tons and tons of SW left to cover. I agree that they are moving away from the human characters, but luckily for SSC, SW is just FULL of aliens, clones, droids, creatures, vehicles, environments, etc. They have their plate full for the duration of the license.

Having said that, I hope SSC can find it in them to do at least 2 more human characters: Tarkin and Dooku!

Thats not what you said originally. Say what you mean always helps. :dunno

Here's what I mean: Sideshow is doing a tauntaun. We've seen the work in progress. That means that there will be either a Hoth Han or Hoth Luke to go with said tauntaun. It would be stupid to have a tauntaun and not a Hoth Han or Hoth Luke.

I will be extremely happy if Sideshow can produce a human sculpt with paint apps of either Ford or Hamill that is up to the level HT quality. Because, let's face it, that's where we are in the game. But so far, besides the Morrison sculpt, we haven't seen a human face sculpt of a Star Wars character from Sideshow in almost 2 years.

I think that might cover it.

Oh, yeah, and this... :moon

I've gone to comic con for almost 10 years straight. It's a very expensive trip. I refuse to pay another fee to talk shop with the SSCs crew.

And just in case you are suggesting anyone other than yourself is talking out their arse, I don't think anyone is making declarative statements, just questioning, based on available product, SSCs commitment to this scale.

Once again, if they are saying it, that's one thing...but SSCs has a history of talking out their backside.

One would expect yes that if they're doing one thing they would do another. That would make sense to most folks I would assume.

Thanks by the way. :) :lol

Yeah, its an exspensive trip but the $50 for the party is 110% worth it to some of us. You learn a lot in those situations that allow you to have a clue as to whats going on.

You were saying they're getting out of the 1:6th game. So you were making a pretty declarative statement. I'm telling you that you're flat out wrong. So you can take that however you want to take it. I'm just saying I know what I'm talking about when it comes to things like this because I actually ask questions. Its not like they're giving away secret info by the way.

I guess we won't take into account that HT and Sideshow have been working together. That they're two separate entities that don't know what the other is doing.

And you're welcome. :duff

I think these two companies are quite aware of what the other is doing. I would venture to guess that they talk quiet regularly especially when it comes to SW products.
