Here's what I mean: Sideshow is doing a tauntaun. We've seen the work in progress. That means that there will be either a Hoth Han or Hoth Luke to go with said tauntaun. It would be stupid to have a tauntaun and not a Hoth Han or Hoth Luke.

I will be extremely happy if Sideshow can produce a human sculpt with paint apps of either Ford or Hamill that is up to the level HT quality. Because, let's face it, that's where we are in the game. But so far, besides the Morrison sculpt, we haven't seen a human face sculpt of a Star Wars character from Sideshow in almost 2 years.

I think that might cover it.

Oh, yeah, and this... :moon

Knowing Sideshow, instead of getting Luke or Han, we'll get 3 Hoth Rebel Trooper variants to go with the Tauntaun. :lol

Yeah, its an exspensive trip but the $50 for the party is 110% worth it to some of us. You learn a lot in those situations that allow you to have a clue as to whats going on.

You were saying they're getting out of the 1:6th game. So you were making a pretty declarative statement. I'm telling you that you're flat out wrong. So you can take that however you want to take it. I'm just saying I know what I'm talking about when it comes to things like this because I actually ask questions. Its not like they're giving away secret info by the way.

FAIL :slap

I said it appears/ seems that they are getting out of 1/6th based on what they have been offering AND based on the fact that they seem to have greater success/skill level with dios/ statues than 1/6th figs, IMHO. I never made a declarative statement that SSCs is definitely getting out of 1/6th scale. So you're 120% wrong!

I'm sure many felt the $50 bucks was worth it. My brother and I even discussed it. But in the end, the cost just wasn't justified to do something we had been doing for years for free. Kinda like paying for tickets to an amusement park and then having to pay to get on all the rides.

And again, just because SSCs discussed this stuff in closed company doesn't mean it's a done deal. They have back tracked before and in some cases flat out lied.

...still waiting for that Fellowship to get finished :impatient:

I've gone to comic con for almost 10 years straight. It's a very expensive trip. I refuse to pay another fee to talk shop with the SSCs crew.

And just in case you are suggesting anyone other than yourself is talking out their arse, I don't think anyone is making declarative statements, just questioning, based on available product, SSCs commitment to this scale.

Once again, if they are saying it, that's one thing...but SSCs has a history of talking out their backside.

Let's see, the last year has seen SSC release Yoda, Yoda's entire GD house, Greedo, Momaw Nadon, 2 sets of cantina seats and tables, Rex, Cody, Bly, AOTC Clone Commander, Clone Sargent, 2 different gamorrean guards, Jabba palace archway, and I'm sure other stuff I'm overlooking. They've officially announced and taken POs for deluxe Sandtrooper, Dewback, battledroids, IG-88, Boba Fett, and Chalmun's Cantina. They've officially revealed Grievous and a STAP, along with a ton of repaints for the BDs. They have production videos of taun tauns, landspeeder, and computer models of the super BD. They've mentioned their intent to do an ultimate Darth Vader and there's been talk of Snowtroopers and an e-web cannon. And that's just what we know about.

Yeah, I can see how one might draw the conclusion that they are not committed to this scale! :wink1:

The only fail is your assumption. :lol

Look at the post above and what they've put out within the SW and Joe licenses on top of the DC announcement. You come to the conclusion they're going to be getting out? Really? I mean come on. :lol

Thats cool. The party was awesome and personally I hope the format stays. I think it works best for everyone.

Well, I would bet my life that we will see 1:6th DC figures from SS in the future. They're gonna go all out on this license like they have with the Marvel. Plus its even talked about in the press release so its not just something talked about at the party or their booth.

They said the LOTR 1:6th line is dead. Sales were not good enough to keep it going. However, the maquette line is kicking ass and really what a LOTR line should be.

Phew, that's a relief! Cause if we were depending on HT, at one SW figure a year, we'd have figures to go with those Taun Tauns by....oh, 2016 or so! :wink1:

Thats why I'm glad I only collect Clones now. Don't have to wait that long. :lol

You might wanna stay out of conversations when you haven't read the whole conversation, Noob.

You're mixing in dios & figs and vehicles. The discussion was about their commitment to 1/6th scale figures.

You're right, they've done some great ones this year...but Im referring to their entire body of work...not just SWs.

So next time, try reading back a few pages before you troll into a conversation.

Thanks

No. Really. :lol

To be clear I meant if SS is doing the Tauntaun they're also I would bet also working on the hoth characters. Not HT working on them.

Yes! I get it! :gah: But why? I'm not saying Sideshow isn't doing them, but why can't HT be doing at least one of the figures while Sideshow does the tauntaun? Where is it written?

Well, I don't know why. That I didn't ask. I think its because the 1:6th license is SS to do what they want. LFL may have said HT can only do this or that. Those are the kinds of things nobody is gonna tell us. That's legal contract stuff right there.

The only 1/6th figures they've been doing is SWs & Joes!!! That's what leads me to that conclusion. They've dropped EVERY other 1/6th line they've done except those! And now they've invited HTs to the SWs license. Seems to me that if they are so well grounded, why would they need HTs :huh

Glad you enjoyed the party. I'm sure it was formatted for only the brownest of their fan base! :rotfl

Before they killed LOTRs, they stated that they were gonna finish the fellowship. Once they killed it, that became a lie. Plain & simple. Glad you like what's that line has become but knowing your propensity to defend these guys, if they produced petrified sculpted turds and called them Ringwraights, you'd be estatic :lol

You don't know cause you didn't ask. You're assuming that's info they won't give us right? But since you didn't ask at the round table party, you simply don't know.

You're funny, and so is the noob moniker. I've been collecting since - forever, and you seem to be the one trolling with inflammatory comments, defending an indefensible argument. I've been reading the thread right along, and posting also. You're the one who's being a little illogical and more than a little uncivil. SSC are making a STAP for their 1/6 BDs, not HT figures. They are making a cantina for their Han and Greedo and Figrin D'an the Modal Nodes (knew I forgot stuff!). They are making a Dewback for their Sandtrooper(s). HT has stated they are making 1 SW figure a year, i think SSC might be a little hard pressed to make a ton of money solely creating environments, vehicles, and creatures for HT 1/6 figures alone. All the evidence supports a continued SSC support for the 1/6 SW line (and why wouldn't they? It's a highly lucrative license). Right now, I'd say it is YOU who are trolling? Who needs a hug? :1-1:

So, you don't know. Thank you for running me around in circles. :rip

I don't know the contractual details. I know that the first one is Luke and it sounded like HT would be doing figures SS had already done. Allowing SS to concentrate going forward with new stuff while HT redid things.

Yes, those are their two lines with 1:6th figures and they've done a crap pile of figures the last 2 years alone. So saying they're getting out just really makes no sense at all. HT wanted to do some SW figures SS leasing part of the license to have them redo things allows them to do that. Problem solved.

Glad you enjoyed the party. I'm sure it was formatted for only the brownest of their fan base! :rotfl

I did. Thanks. :)

They didn't kill it. They just didn't sell. Thats the fact of the matter. I do. Statues has always been the best way to represent LOTR and these are doing just that.

You don't know cause you didn't ask. You're assuming that's info they won't give us right? But since you didn't ask at the round table party, you simply don't know.

I didn't ask for details I knew I wouldn't get. We asked about the deal with HT and as I said above that's how it was explained.
