i see Hamill in the HS....i think it is the PERS that puts it off though.
With the sculpted hair on BD lukes head....would it be too much to ask for a sculpted Chewbacca??with 2 HS...1 ANH style and 1 ROTJ styled ;)

Thinking i may cancel the '89 Batman and go for this instead, while i like Batman Returns, i'm not too keen on the '89 film plus with the rubber problems in the past and HT's refusal to alay concerns about that in future figures coupled with being a Star Wars nerd makes me consider this a whole lot more.

Yeah, I agree about the rubber concerns. There's also the fact that Luke has more bang for your buck.

However, I still think as a stand alone figure, gimmicks and extras aside, Batman is the better figure here. In looks and in accuracy.

I really want to like this Luke, but there's something off about it. The regular head is a lot better looking then it was before but I think the Bespin Fatigues need a little work. Mainly the collar, the color (it could be a little more "worn" couldn't it? Why not have it be the same tone as the battle damaged one?) and a tighter fit overall. There's just something keeping it back from being the perfect Bespin Luke figure.

I don't know. If it looks better once people get these in hand, I'll probably get one and sell off all the junk I don't want.

I'm still undecided if I'll get this since I'm not a fan of Luke but the craftsmanship on this figure is on the top plus w/ loads of accessories & 2 full figures included, I think $300 is already a good price for this set! :monkey1

I said I wasn't going to do it but...... ORDERED! I prefer the choice just to get one fig, but for 2 DX and the Weather vane, not to mention the EX head I'm Happy plus Bespin in my fav Luke

i'm still undecided about this. looks cool no doubt, but...

minuses:
- it's not the most iconic luke's costume, and you just know more versions are coming.
- rather shoving us $300 for essentially 2 similar figs, would rather have $180 for one version. or just take back one tt body and price it at $250.
- always hate huge space-waster for a base(this is becoming a trend after indy's and spidey's base). someone said base is worth $50 easy, but all i see is a thin antenna.

pluses:
- it's luke from the best most defining moment in the whole sw saga.
- it's luke from the best most defining moment in the whole sw saga.

If anyone is interested in splitting a set and is after the BD stuff/weather vane display only etc, shoot me a PM.

I am in the UK if that affects anything.

:peace

Same here. And no NRD.

Yeah that's kinda what's keeping me from Preordering. I mean this will be mine no doubt I'm a huge Luke fan, but i really only want one,(have not decided which yet) And i think i'll be able to get it in the FS section no problem.

Can't wait looks great!

i just dont get the people's love for the weather vane. i really dont. and some of you're using the vane to justify the $300 price tag, when given the choice i'm sure all of us would be happier for a lower price tag sans the vane.

the vane is nothing more than a tv antenna. it's just a tall stick. and about as useless. how are you going to display it? on the ceiling? yeah, you're really going to dangle a ht fig from your ceiling, and risk it falling down and breaking? not to mention you have to tilt your neck up everytime you want to appreciate the fig, or climb a chair(or a ladder) everytime you want to hold it in your hand.

I just wanna collect figures, not big elebrate, space eating stands. Getting sick of Hot Toys including these in thier releases.

I've always liked the vane Idea ever since Hasbro released theirs I'll probably remove the top shelf from a detolf and attach it there, I'd prefer to not have the clean version & keep the vane myself

Cant see myself hanging this from the ceiling,,think the misses would go nuts :rotfl
Rather make room in a display cabinet

If I may chime in for a moment - the face is just too pre-car accident Hamill for starters - & although I really love the fact that we're finally getting a set like this, the clean head - while very realistic, simply isn't 1980 Hamill.

Secondly - you're right; the outfit, it needs further tailoring IMO. The pants need to be a tad more form fitting (currently bunched up under the knees) & the jacket a little less around the torso. The boots need to hug his legs a little more too - they look oversized to me... probably because of the bunched up pants tucked inside them. I initially thought the pockets needed fixing, but they look good in the new pics.

Also, by the time he gets to Bespin, he's already been trudging around on Dagobah, so the suit should be a little 'worn in'. At the moment, it looks he just got it back from the cleaners!

At the moment, the pre-battle Luke figure - while nice, is lacking..

Mine is totally going on the ceiling..I'm sure it'll secure tightly and you won't have to worry about it falling. I might be in the minority but I love this accessory...for those of us with space issues this is brilliant. The ceiling in my collection room is only 9ft high so it's not like I'll need a ladder to appreciate him. Just hope the switch to turn on the lights is on the bottom of the base. I applaud HT in including this..it's thinking outside the box.

I'm not crazy about the space needle but I'm more than happy about getting two full DX figures plus a cool EX accessory for $300.

If HT had released these individually most of us SW fans would have gotten them both, at a higher cost at that,... or at least griped about HT not putting them in a two-in-one form to begin with. :lol

Same here. And no NRD.

$180 for a simple luke is fine to me. one tt body with tons more accessories and change-o-cloth for $220-250 is fine to me also(got bat/joker 89 on po). but here, ht wants to charge us $300 by essentially forcing on us a 2nd tt body. i find that to be a sneaky move on ht part. i'm surprised not more people here see it that way, but instead feel we should be grateful that ht doesnt charge us $350.

i'm not worried about the vane falling off the ceiling, i was talking about the luke dangling from it. if the vane go on the ceiling, you'll want luke to be on ceiling as well, right? cant be just the vane by its lonesome on the ceiling; without luke as context, it'd look like you put your tv antenna upside down.

you may see this as ht thinking outside the box, but i'm seeing this as another proof of huge aesthetically unappealing base becoming a trend for ht. spidey's, indy's, and now luke's.

how about the floor of when vader revealed himself as the base? how about something simpler like the floor of the millenium falcon as the base? i'll take those 2 over a tv antenna.

if they release 2 versions simultaneously, especially 2 versions that look 90% identical, i believe most people would just pick one.

but then, ht will never give us that option. no way they would ever release 2 similar figs simultaneously. 1 now, then a 2nd version a year later. sneaky.

Bespin Luke is by far my least favorite look and this was an easy pass for me....

And then I saw the exclusive and the new pics and caved. Really hoping for a Jedi Luke though.

Seeing the price and release date, i just might add this to my haul when i visit HK :yess:

I dont think the antenna needs to be hanging from the ceiling..it has its own base for cryin out loud :gah: :yess::yess:
