Really on the fence about young Skywalker here. He is really flippen cool but I prefer Ham Solo as a character so I may hold out for him instead.

But I will say that it does resonate with me so I may yet fold.

Definitely not gonna cancel Batman!

Seeing the price and release date, i just might add this to my haul when i visit HK :yess:

I dont think the antenna needs to be hanging from the ceiling..it has its own base for cryin out loud :gah: :yess::yess:
nobody's saying you cant place the vane down, but lots of people are saying they want to hang it on the ceiling because the vane would take too much shelf space, hence my comment.

Oh, then if that's the case, good point :hi5:

but the SW geek in me still badly wants that antenna :lol

:lol

the sw geek in me wants to buy more ht sw figs, so if getting rid of that antenna and a 2nd tt body means an extra $80 that can go to ht's han solo, then the sw geek in me is all the more happier.

but what am i talking about... you can always sell parts on ebay. :yess:

You know, I used to just collect PF's and statues... But then I got into the 1:6 clones. Now I have this, Boba, IG, and the battle droids on order. To many great items coming out these days. Glad I have enough income to cover it but my bank account doesn't like me much these days!

This will be my first HT figure. About the price... Isn't $300 about standard for a HT figure these days? I think its a decent value considering the multiple accessories and quality head sculpts.

$180 for a simple luke is fine to me. one tt body with tons more accessories and change-o-cloth for $220-250 is fine to me also(got bat/joker 89 on po). but here, ht wants to charge us $300 by essentially forcing on us a 2nd tt body. i find that to be a sneaky move on ht part. i'm surprised not more people here see it that way, but instead feel we should be grateful that ht doesnt charge us $350.
I see where you're coming from, because we've seen something like the T-1000, which is essentially 2 complete figures minus one body, for around $150. But then, we see something like the T1 T-800, which is one figure with 2 heads, go for near $200. So HT's prices are really all over the place. DX Lee w/extra body was a little over $200, but the regular was around $200 itself, and that is without HT having to pay a fee to Sideshow and Lucasfilm. DX Batman is $230ish, which is very pricey for one figure but he has a fancy rubber suit. Someone recently posted that a Iron Man figure costs HT $35 or so to produce, and we all know about HT's CEO living in a multi-million $ mansion, so from that angle, yes, they are making nice profits on these things no matter what they charge.

But I'm thinking of it this way--if HT released "clean" and "battle damaged" Luke separately, with the googly eyes, they would no doubt cost $180ish or so each, at least. Possibly more, given that the Star Wars license is gonna make this pricier than figures from other licenses, holding all other things constant. By including 2 figures in the same package, this is a good deal relative to what it could be. And many of us are pretty big Empire/Star Wars/Luke fans who want both.

In any case, if $180 is acceptable to you for one of the figures, buy this figure and re-sell the one you don't want plus the fancy stand. I'm sure you can easily get $150+ (more depending on how long you wait to sell).

Yeah, I agree that the antenna is unnecessary. Like most people here, I have no use for it. It just takes up space.

All I want in a 1/6 figure is a great figure, hands, weapons, accessories, maybe an alternate head and a display base. All this extra junk is useless. Superman's crystal base, Spider-Man's little pedestal thing, all of that crap with Indiana Jones, it's all unneeded. Some of the chairs are alright, like The Godfather or Sweeney Todd but these other things are really pushing it.

There needs to be a uniformity to these things but they're all over the place in terms of what is included and what's not. It makes the collection seem sporadic.

Oh and I can definitely see collectors freaking out when they put Luke up on that fragile weather vane (you know it's going to be fragile) and that ____ snaps and falls off. Totally reenacting a "what if" scenario where Luke falls to his death on Bespin. In fact, I'm calling it now, it'll snap.

:monkey3:yess::monkey3Guess I will be displaying it with this! One of my prize possessions.. The original hand drawn storyboard of the Luke/Bespin sequence...

Yeah, that's a great drawing to own indeed! :clap

I'd have ultimately preferred one definitive Luke figure with a stack of goodies.. but I'm still blown away by what's on offer.

I'm just picky about the clean head & outfit mainly..

Fantastic, Rorywan! I'm so jealous!

As far as this weather vane debate, I LOVE it! In fact, I am skipping Luke, but may just get the vane by itself through TA!
