Probably true. Because the EU characters were never portrayed by actors there's more leeway to do a custom or bash I suppose. So if HT just focused on the OT and PT that would be okay too.

Yes. Leia Hoth/Bespin DX would rock. You'd have the:
full Hoth outfit
hair style
with gloved hands
and breather mask.
Then you'd have:
flesh hands
removable vest
Interchangeable boots/shoes
E-11 blaster

Next you'd have a full other bespin figure with:

Exchangeable head with new hairstyle.
Not many accessories with the bespin look.

To save $$ it should be interchangeable hair style or head with different expression, preferably worried, and extra bespin gown outfit like indy's map room disguise.

I'd buy that.

This will be a good deal when they fix the normal headsculpt. The BD version is excellent. Otherwise it's $150 per figure with one of them having an average likeness.
I've ordered one but I'm hoping for improvements.

I've just recently PO'd Luke. I'm also hoping that the clean head sculpt would improve.

I would say Anakin or Maul are far more likely as the next DX candidate.

I would be curious on a DX Anakin. With Maul, only so much you can do to make him a special DX.

What rumors are those?

To me, Han and Leia are equally needed. Neither has even come close to being nailed in a 1/6 release.

Have these "limitations" on HT only doing previously done SSC characters been officially stated anywhere? It's Hasbro's 12" license that SSC "rents" - which SSC are then sort of sub-letting to HT.

And does the restriction pertain to the character, or the character AND costume? If SSC has done a Han, does that mean HT cannot do a Hoth Han - it's a character SSC has done, but in a different outfit?

HT can DX just about any figure. Look at the DX Jack Sparrow, they threw in a Wheel, a base, a Flag and two PERS HS and made a DX out of it. They can DX Maul if they wanted to, just add a unique base, Two PERS HS( one normal, one Grimmacing), tons of hand sculpt sets, the three probe droids, scooter, a holographic image of Sidious ect., ect.

...but I'd rather have a ESB Han DX as long as they can improve the HS from the DX05.

Yeah HT can DX anybody! Micheal Jackson got his own DX! Bruce Lee got his own DX, just about anybody can be DX'd

True but the predator line has fewer core characters then star wars.
I'm all for EU charaters, I just doubt you'll see the investment from Hottoys in those , rather then the iconic movie charaters they can milk.
its all about the all mighty buck, and the EU characters typically, not always, have less interest.

I agree. As much as I'd love to see a HT Mara Jade or Jaina Solo I really doubt those characters will ever be made. Your more likely to see a sith lord from the new knights of the old republic game than any of the older EU characters. And even that is highly unluckily given its near underground status with the general main stream pop culture offerings.

I doubt HT will make any SW characters outside of the 6 movies.
Since its rumored that SS will Re-issue a Darth Vader and with SS's Boba Fett coming soon, the only other characters I'd like HT to produce are ESB Han & Chewie and Darth Maul. We know Bespin Luke is coming soon. Id like a Princess Lea but HT has NOT mastered the female species just yet so if she's not made it won't bother me.

Resident Evil Alice? Blade III Abigail? SP Amber? I'd say those are definitely exceptions to the dolly haired Silk Spectres, Sarah Conners, Black Widows & Baby Dolls in their catalogue.

I hear ya though.. Leia's gotta be right. She blows all those other ones away, so extra effort is expected to do her justice.
