Likely LFL will approve the sculpt if it can pass for luke....they aren't going for the actor himself, but luke as a character, since they own the right to his likeness, they can approve any level of likeness they want, including something that's half-baked...i hope they improve upon the likeness though...

I hope they improve the headsculpt, I have said this before, the non-bd headsculpt is not mark hamill/luke skywalker. Just looks like some random guy.

Well, with a delay I hope they tweak the clean sculpt, cause for some reason the eye gimmick is throwing off the likeness to me. Hate Pers myself.

Interesting. For me I find it adds a ton more realism than static paint apps. I like that you can actually have Luke focus on an opponent as opposed to staring blankly straight ahead. Plus the painted eyes look very doll-like in most cases.

Might have to take my words back. Just read a Captain Toy review of the HT Indy DX last night and it convinced me that you're probably right about PERS screwing-up Ford's likeness.

Jeff Parker said:
...But something is definitely off. It does seem that this might be a case of a PERS too far, as the deep set eyes combined with Fords heavy eyelids create the illusion of him wearing make up, which is truly strange because when you examine the paint app closely you will note how subtle it is, there is no hint of it being too dark around the eyes...

When you look at the pic of Indy with his face down and the hat covering his eyes (just below the picture of the idol), to me that looks very much like Harrison Ford (sorry, don't have a place to host photos and wasn't sure if I can hotlink to their site). As soon as the hat brim is lifted and you see the full face with the deep-set PERS eyes, it's like a completely different sculpt.

So, to cut to the chase, I can see why it's maybe not the right solution for every figure. Initially, I wanted any human character I got to have PERS, but I think now it's better if the figures are mixed. I still think Luke (even the clean version) looks great with PERS but it's clear it doesn't suit Indy/Ford, at least in this iteration.

Still disagree with this, though. I can see totally that they didn't nail Hamill's likeness in the clean sculpt, but it still looks damn good, especially when compared with what SSC has released so far.

I may wait until the prices drop to pick this up. Actually, that's exactly what I'm going to do. I reckon these will be as mass produced as Superman, Jack Sparrow, '89 Bats and the Joker if not more with the Star Wars brand name.

It's nice having two figures for $150 each, but it might be even sweeter to get them at $100 to $110. Even if it turns out to be as bad as Indy in the likeness department, it might be nice set to have at $220 or even $200.

I'm disappointed it was pushed back cause it's a grail figure for me. But time to save some $ is good.

I've been debating on this but I see that even the SS Ex hasn't sold out. I really would prefer a Episode IV version.

Shoot, I didn't realize that the release date had been pushed back. Well as long as it helps to create a better end product then I'm alright with it. I was just hoping to have him on my shelf sooner. That's gonna be a pretty good sized gap between my Flexpay payments.

Gives them a chance to fix that likeness.

I think the non-BD headsculpt could still use a little tweaking to make it look a little more like Hamill, but I think the BD sculpt is spot-on.

Anyone who thinks the non-bd headsculpt looks like mark hamill must be kidding. I mean seriosuly! That headsculpt is just as bad as the indiana jones headsculpt, innacurate as hell.

You might need glasses, or maybe you havent seen ESB enough times? The BD sculpt is PERFECT. Theres nothing wrong with this. if anything they have taken away some of the bruises/blood from the bd sculpt. :lecture
