I think Yoda just played like he needed a cane and was past his prime. The old master was very much able to walk and be without his cane in the prequels. Kinda of like Palps does in the OT. Palps wasn't that fragile and weak now was he.

A Jedi master can let the force flow through him regardless of age or size. That was the basis of yodas lesson. If you concentrated hard enough and feel the force completely you could do anything. Whether it was lift an x-wing out of a swamp, jump around like Bruce lee at age 800 something, or pull a star destroyer out of the sky, if you put your faith in the force and let it completely take you over you can do amazing things.

Palps was pretty old too but the dark side has its own benefits too. Anyone who didn't know these fact from watching the movies can't possibly be a fan so they shouldn't be in here in the first place.

Also, Yoda said "sick have I become". I'm pretty sure that living on Dagoba wasn't the healthiest place in the galaxy. He probably breathed in some black mold that was growing in his house while he slept at night. Nasty complications. There are Jedi healing trances but after 900 years I'm sure he was pretty much done.

Since we are on the topic of silly prequel bits.. How about R2 being able to fly?! Why did he never use this ability in any of the logical films that followed? First trip (star wars) to tatooine just fly around the desert, see what's goin on!

Perhaps Anakin did a lot of the mods to him in the PT. Probably just never thought about certain things to give him in OT when they were made.

I'm guessing he didn't see much action like when he was at Anakin's side. Until Luke that is.

I don't see the royal family of Alderaan keeping up maintenance on rockets for one of their random R2 droids. It's believable that they either wouldn't work or would have been removed before the OT.

I don't see the royal family of Alderaan keeping up maintenance on rockets for one of their random R2 droids. It's believable that they either wouldn't work or would have been removed before the OT.

When it comes to creating your own story to make the one on screen work... That's when you know you are in trouble. George doesn't give a $h1t about SW. He proved that by giving us the PT.

Only films that really matter to me personally are SW and EMPIRE. The rest you have to start making crap up for the logic to work. Example 1 for even RotJ. Why did the empire or darth not have troopers stationed at jabbas palace to capture Luke? He certainly new Luke would come to cloud city to save his friends didnt he? Even I could figure out Lukes next move and I'm NO Jedi! The story up until RofJ leads us (the audience) to believe that the empire was in fear of and needed to either capture or kill Luke. ???
