Apparently Yoda's race ages dramatically in the last 20 years of their life. To go from somersaults and wall-bouncing to barely being able to walk in 20 years of an 800+ year lifespan, that's gotta suck.

Well unless I'm mistaken (and I might be. Lord knows I haven't seen the prequels many times), wasn't Yoda hobbling around in the prequels, right before he starts jumping around the room like he's on PCP? Makes no sense whatsoever, but what about the prequels does?

Main thing I remember about that one scene where he fights that old guy is the crowd erupting into joyful laughter and applause, whilst I just cringed and wished I wasn't there.

Jedi can unleash "Force speed" in short bursts (as we saw in Episode I) so maybe Yoda was able to channel The Force briefly and "unleash hell", before reverting to his normal state.
