I don't think using a silica gel pack in an open environment, like a Detolf, will be of any use. At least not until that silica pack is huge - and then renewed very often. It is much easier to simply control the humidity of the room or entire house in most places by use of humidifier or dehumidifier.

No way silica gel would be of any use in something that isn't sealed to some degree. If it has free airflow, then silica gel is useless. Like pixel piper said, it would have to be gigantic and changed out on a regular basis.

Anyways, I really hope I can pick one of these up once the recent influx of figures dies down.

Man the expressions on this thing

Only the Wanted/Forsale section here, plus PM'ing members who might be willing to part something out. Might be tough for that one though, because by all accounts people want the outfit and the other parts not so much. Same boat as you. ;)

Hey i just noticed my pers on my BD are really stiff. Is this a problem? (only HT fig i have with pers) Will they loosen with play or do they break?

You might be able to break the linkage that's used to move the eyes, but if that happens all is not lost because you should still be able to take it apart somewhat to move the eyes individually and to a passable repair. Food-grade silicone spray would probably make it slide around easier if you wanted to try that - apply it with a toothpick or q-tip.

Here's an independent eye repair for HT's Joker:

I wouldn't use silicone spray. In the pers joy stick box maybe (if that's what you meant), but not near any paint.

I've only got DX Bruce Lee & Luke, all four heads are a bit stiff (clunky movement) so I figure that's how it is.

Yes, in the box, which is why I also mentioned applying it with toothpick or q-tip, not actually spraying it on. You can get some very nice stuff used for dive equipment that's waterborne and has zero solvent and zero propellant content. Totally safe with paint just in case. I use it on painted vintage vinyl and rubber figures.

Go easy on Luke's belt, as its really fragile. I literally touched mine yesterday in the morning and a magnet on the holster fell off. Touched him again later, and the lightsaber hook came off, and I managed to lose it, then find it, but not before stepping on it!! ARGH!!!

I always wanted to get this but I find some off about the Head sculpts and how fragile Luke is. I don't think for $300 it should have those issues. I do feel I need him but I can wait for other versions of Luke to come out. The new Hoth Luke is much better in my eyes. Just my opinion but whoever has this is lucky for sure. Completes a part of your Star Wars Collection.

Well, the likeness is a personal preference. But being fragile? I don't think so at all. The magnets and saber hook is a non-issue for me. The glue sucks. A dab super glue and its over. I think people make too much of it, but that's me. I also don't think the likeness is that off ,tbh. The BD head is a solid sculpt, and I really think the hair sculpt on the clean version throws the likeness off even more. Without the hair I see a stronger Hamill likeness, though it isn't perfect. All in all, its and excellent set. There are certain characters/actors I give more flexibility in the likeness department it seems and Luke is one of them.

I agree with you here. It's preference and as much as I wanted to get this set I can't see myself getting it. I think the BD sculpt is excellent actually but still I don't think I will get it. Maybe who knows but at the moment I'm trying to get a ROTJ display together. Maybe soon I'll get this if I find it for the right price. Some parts are fragile but it's an easy fix. I agree there so not a big deal but like I said if you have this than you will make your Star Wars Collection even more impressive.

well, the little parts falling off are only an issue as they are really hard to find. figure itself and most of it is rock solid

That said, anyone has an extra lightsaber hook, be sure to PM me...lol
