Re: Hot Toys's DX04 - Enter the Dragon: Bruce Lee 1/6th scale Collectible Figure

The retail is around $190 I think. But online retailers usually have their pre-orders even cheaper... probably around $175.

Already up for preorder for $199.99. Might go down as it gets closer to release. Like the T1000 as Sarah did.

Re: Hot Toys's DX04 - Enter the Dragon: Bruce Lee 1/6th scale Collectible Figure

At the other end of the spectrum, I hope Enterbay starts pissing on HT's territory as well. Their talents are unquestionable, but if they just keep taking their sweet time on everything, then they'll not go very far as a company.

They don't seem to care about the competition, they just stick to their own stuff and having fun, them making Prison break figures are their own interest i assume, they would go for bigger and more popular things if they really wanted to challenge Hot Toys.
They would hire more artists and get things moving faster if they wanted to,but they don't,so they give us the impression that they just enjoy what their doing and don't want to challenge anyone.

Re: Hot Toys's DX04 - Enter the Dragon: Bruce Lee 1/6th scale Collectible Figure

I think it is absurd. It's too sharply defined, even if they were going for the flexed look. Just look at the chest. They should really tone down the muscle definition, make it subtler.

And then there's this

the change in skin tone upsets me. But I dont think its terribly over done, (the definition)

Skin tone changes are obvious things they will get right on production... they wouldn't send it out like that!

Re: Hot Toys's DX04 - Enter the Dragon: Bruce Lee 1/6th scale Collectible Figure

Well the flexing does match that pic.

this is true, other than that Im happy with the release of the figure, expected? no, dissapointing? not for me in the least and I have a feeling some other freaks agree with me that they'll be getting it

Sooo, why did they make Prison Break and The Godfather then?

Yes, they're having fun in what they do, I'm sure. But they are still a business entity their official name is a dead giveaway: ENTERBAY INTERNATIONAL LIMITED. As such, they make figures to profit. They are as much concerned about competition as other companies are.

Yeah, but it still isn't right. If they were going for a flexing pose, then that pretty much limits the body to that one flexing pose. Look at Bruce's posture in that pic you posted. He's hunched over, arms pulled in towards the chest, shoulder muscles flared out (the trapezius area), deltoids pulled downward to emphasize striation in the muscles.

The body would only work for that single pose, when Bruce is purposefully putting his effort into flexing hard. It doesn't work for anything else...and the body HT did won't even allow for that one flexing pose anyway because if you look at its shoulders, they are unflexed, and the figure can't hunch over because there isn't an abdominal joint.

It doesn't work. It's too overly sharp for what I assume they were going for.

If i remember correctly Their Godfather w/pics was announced before HT's Godfather, but released about the same time.

About Prison Break...well i allready posted my thoughts on that, and if they were serious enough they would hire more artists to get things going faster.

:horror We didn't know that. We are all smarter now. :lecture

Re: Hot Toys's DX04 - Enter the Dragon: Bruce Lee 1/6th scale Collectible Figure

I don't get all the texturing on the body. Bruce Lee didn't have dry skin...it looks weird.

Re: Hot Toys's DX04 - Enter the Dragon: Bruce Lee 1/6th scale Collectible Figure

It's really grainy looking.

Re: Hot Toys's DX04 - Enter the Dragon: Bruce Lee 1/6th scale Collectible Figure

I am a big Bruce Lee fan, have the EB figures but i will not get this if it stays the same,it has NOTHING to do with EB's being better...But how terrible that Body really looks.

I see your point maybe something more like this?

Yes, but still, that means they ARE concerned about competition. Not saying that Enterbay isn't serious enough is such a slap to them IMHO. It's much worse than saying that they're not handling businesses well.

I was referring to THIS post, Einstein:

They would hire more artists and get things moving faster if they wanted to,but they don't,so they give us the impression that they just enjoy what their doing and don't want to challenge anyone.

also, I would assume that they do want to hire more artists, but aren't able to right now due to budget constraints, again pointing us to how they're not handling the business side as well as we all would hope.

In retrospect, I sincerely hope a few more brain cells have been added since your last unnecessary and non-thought-out sarcastic response. Really.

Yeah, they just need to soften the muscle definition. Otherwise, it's actually a very good looking figure body.

I hate to keep bringing up Enterbay, but they nailed the body. I've heard no complaints when it comes to the sculpt. Durability and poseability is another thing, though.

They are serious on what they do,they are a serious company yes,but once again, like i said...If they wanted to challenge HT they would go for let's say Predator,Batman,IronMan or whatever but that doesn't seem to interest them,it's not their style, same as Martial Arts ain't HT's style but yet they challenge EB with their Bruce Lee so yeah i say Enterbay doesn't care about the competition as much as HT do.

if they wanted to,they would hire more artists and try to get more popular licenses, but they don't,im not saying it's easy to get any license you want but im sure they could get some popular ones if they really wanted to.

Serious or not,i still love Enterbay and what they have given me,just so you don't think i hate EB or anything :slap

Re: Hot Toys's DX04 - Enter the Dragon: Bruce Lee 1/6th scale Collectible Figure

They need to soften and make it sweatier like EB's 1/4.
