I dare say once HT sell out of this Bruce you wont be finding any Lee figures for the price you're going to be able to get them for today.

This DX could be HT's only effort of a Lee figure. That's bad for future collectors new to the hobby, but it's good for collectors new to the hobby today. What else is on the horizon? Enterbay BD ETD, BD GoD, and Big Boss. I speculate their BD ETD will come with a real mirrored dio, so probably out of the more casual collectors price range. Big Boss might be released as a single more basic figure within the $200 mark. Either way, this HT release mightn't be as iconic as GoD but it's Bruce at his best nonetheless. A great buy for past and present collectors, but a sad for newcomers late to the game.

I see your point. I only got into collecting figures this year, and the number of times I hear experienced collectors say "if only I found this hobby a year ago".

I don't necessarily want a Bruce that goes up in value - I just want an awesome Bruce!

You can't lose with a HT Bruce.

If you want it you'll need to be on the ball. You can pre-order and pay retail, or while you wait, follow ebay and see what you feel is more reasonable a price, even if it is $10 below retail, or you can wait till it's out and gamble you'll still have enough time to act. Once it's gone it'll go up, because latecomers will increase demand and supply will dwindle because Bruce has a strong following.

You get a figure made by the company ruling the roost. It's badass Bruce FFS. It has heaps of gear, and accessories, making it a great buy and adding to demand. It will have a body that will lend itself to customising, and is a 'one of', it'll be in demand by customisers, and by collectors wanting two, further depleting supply. This'll go the way of Blade.

this will sell well, despite the fact that there are ETB bruces. No point in arguing what is better. In the ideal world where you could get anything you want, who wouldn't get both right?

For a new comer like me who missed out on ETB's Bruces...DX04 is a godsend and instant buy. For people who already have ETB bruces, they just need to think whether they like DX04, and if they do, buy it, if they don't, pass. For people who are not intersted in BL, pass and wait for the next figure.

End of story. No point in worrying about things that are out of our control (ie: ETB deserves to be the only BL 1/6 maker, or HT DX04 decision was a stupid move, or Yuli vs. Arnie, etc)

Personally, I hope this isn't a one-off for HT concerning Bruce Lee. But if they continue the line, I doubt that it will be placed in the DX line. Regardless, though, I don't need a lot of BLs, so this DX04 will be my definitive edition.

Then again, I said the same thing when I bought the Classic Pred ("This is all the Predator I need"), and I ate my words with gravy and salad on the side.

I have Enterbay's GOD Bruce and I said the same, " This is the ONLY and definitive Bruce", I also said that about Michael Jackson, and here I am gawking at this figure waiting impatiently for it's release with a MJ Bad preorder at hand.

You cannot have too many Bruce Lees.

u have to pre order it at the hong kong ani-com in order to get the extra body. nowhere else u can get the extra body besides ebay i guess?

Extra body if you order at HK anicom? Who said that? So there will be an extra body in certain DX packages?

I was strongly considering cancelling my EB 1/4 ETD Statue preorder for this but I just can't do it. I was able to pick one up for a very reasonable price of $170. I feel even though it doesn't have all of the HT accessories and what not, it is still the best representation of Bruce. Can someone convince me otherwise? I don't think so until we see the final HT piece in hand, and even then it'll be very hard to beat EB

That depends on your tastes. I'm more into action figures than statues. I was about to preorder the 1/4 statue, because like you said, it's THE BEST representation of Bruce to date hands down, but I can't pose it the way I want it, nor I can have him fight my T-800, you know, haha.

I also am more into action figures and it would be nice to have him in different poses. It'll be interesting to see how much the HT will be selling for. I have the EB FOF and it is amazing. I think pictures can't do any of the EB's any justice. Once it is in your possession it truly is an amazing piece of art and hopefully the HT version will have the same effect.

yeh, I'm not much into statues so I'd go the action figure every time. If it's true likeness you're after though, then a statue has got to be your first choice.

HOT TOYS was the only company that had eyes to see that the correct color of the "black" jumpsuit was dark blue. It was never black. All the past figures had the color wrong. Even ENTERBAY missed this one on their figure. Congrats for Hot Toys!
The body sculpt needs to go on a diet. It's a little too bulky/cartoonish for ETD, perhaps if the movie in question was "The Big Boss".
Although ENTERBAY joined forces with MEDICOM, they should watch out. A big competitor with heavy artillery is on the market. Despite all the likes/dislikes among the fans, ultimate, the quality & price of the figures will speak for themselves. The customers are the ones who will make the final decision to buy or not to buy these figures.

Somebody has to tell Hot Toys that Bruce was Asian. But they got the jumpsuit color right so it's okay.
