Re: Hot Toys's DX04 - Enter the Dragon: Bruce Lee 1/6th scale Collectible Figure

A big competitor with heavy artillery is on the market.

I think we all know that HT has the artillery.

I don't know why there are comments that say EB should be scared or watch out or they gonna fold just because of the release of the DX04!

I spoke with EB yesterday, be it only for a few min's and they said they have nothing to worry of.

Its been a tuff year for EB with new factory, restructuring, delays and new Sales/Marketing management and I think they have done well to get where they are today.

As I'm a dealer, I'm on the fence with both companies, but if I'm honest I'm leaning over to the Enterbay side, I have been since I started to work with them from a few years back and because I have constant contact with them, whereas Hot Toys -they don't want to know me!

No doubt we will get alot of orders for DX04 as many people missed out on the EB ETD, so I win either way!

But a few people did say to me they will buy the DX04 for the base, so if DX04 buyers are looking for an extra body - keep ya eyes peeled!!

Any word on villains for Bruce? Mr. Han, Bolo, psycho white dude, and Dragon allies Roper and Williams.

What happened to Enterbay's own battle damage EtD set, breaker? I had heard word that it would include a mirror room display base of its own.

Hot Toys -they don't want to know me!

Why is this?

You mainly deal in 1/6th figures. You join in on 1/6th scale message boards which helps spread the word about your company and Hot Toys. People who buy from you say you are a good seller and return to buy more from you.

Seams silly not to make you an official UK seller.

I'm what they may consider small fry!! Years ago I had contact with Howard, was good communication but when he realised I was not as big as he thought, contact stopped, sent a few emails, then I just gave up.

Now I have a top notch official supplier I buy from in HK.

If they came to me now and said do I want to be an official dealer, I'm gonna say no - I'm not interested.

Re: Hot Toys's DX04 - Enter the Dragon: Bruce Lee 1/6th scale Collectible Figure

I had the Nokia GOD Bruce and the black part of the suit bleeds on to the body and stains it, there is no way to take it off. Also the individual moving eye is not a good idea because posing it was hard to get right without looking crosseyed. The body also was limited because it had like 15 point of articulation and I paid almost $400. If Hot Toys bypasses all these problems then I am buying atleast two.
Also, the normal head is a spot on likeness to Bruce, people that say it isnt, give me a freaking break. do every asian look alike to you? The BD does need work.

Oh I see. It would have been nice if they responded and simply said sorry, but you don't have enough customers right now to be an official outlet. But maybe some time in the future if you grow we can rethink the situation. Rather than ignoring you.

Re: Hot Toys's DX04 - Enter the Dragon: Bruce Lee 1/6th scale Collectible Figure

Likeness is off. :thud:

On another note, I'll probably pass on this figure, but if it had been of Brandon as the "Crow"; I would have been on it like stink on s**t!

It is just business, as with any dealership requirements, to be a dealer, you must first have a physical store. If you have a physical store then you must fulfill the MOQ (minimum order quantity) for EACH releases. If you can't, then no distributorship for you.

You can't expect HT to give you the distributorship if you are just going to order like 20 Bruce Lee from them or you are selective about what you order i.e, you feel that The Spirit is going to suck so you don't want to order any or you order 50 warmachine but only 10 Black Widow. You will be surprised at the amount of people who only wants to order the popular stuff but none of the risky stuff.

It is a well known fact that ETB currently has a much lower MOQ requirements than HT. Fact is now, at least here, no one wants to be an ETB sole distributor due to the inconsistent quality, long delays, and lack of new licenses, and an inconsistent product release schedule.

Also, ETB offers their product through their website which anyone can buy direct. That is really screwing with the dealers I tell you.

I remember there was a time when ETB was the one who do not want the small fry instead. Funny how times have changed.

Thanks. I knew that there must be certain terms you must meet, but did not have a clue as to what they were.

Re: Hot Toys's DX04 - Enter the Dragon: Bruce Lee 1/6th scale Collectible Figure

The head liknesses are off on BOTH heads. screaming more than standard.. they say they are redoing the head. Great what about that totally retarded looking body??

my issue? there's just too many bruce lees in the market. and even though its the one from the best most iconic movie i don't need it.

I understand it's a popular character from a popular movie and one that does well in Asia but for me? EB has me covered. I've got the FOF which is basically the same damn thing and totally love it. better likeness, better base, better alt outfit better body. Better all around.

I'm the first guy to laugh at the fact that so many people swore up and down it was Superman. Or Rambo and Rocky. And now they're just wining because it's not. Their speculation and fantasizing went on for so long that they started to almost expect it when there was totally no reason to do so and felt like they were being punished when they didn't get it. so I'm not wining about that but I do however wish it was at least something different it would have had my buy. I'm willing to be the same amount of people who bought mJ would buy Bruce which is a fraction of the ones who bought batman and joker. Even though they had a bunch already, those two were such huge improvements it made it impossible to ignore. and with Bruce Lee it's a step BACKWARDS, therefore no one really feel the need for it. At least if it were something like Rocky, from the first movie it would be something never been done. It's not as iconic as bruce lee but still a worldwide classic and something I think most collectors would find a spot for in their collection.

Just keep doing what you are doing Wai Man
Your the best dealer out there in the UK. I am so glad I found out about your site, as I was so frustrated dealing with Play and both Forbidden Planets.
Hot Toys missed out big time

That's all well and good but my contact with HT happened when they were even small fry, way before they got the big name film contracts.

I was not looking to be a distributor.
Anyways, back on topic...
