Re: Hot Toys's DX04 - Enter the Dragon: Bruce Lee 1/6th scale Collectible Figure

this is true, I say we just take them both for what they are, and move on :lol I for one will be getting HT bruce!

Re: Hot Toys's DX04 - Enter the Dragon: Bruce Lee 1/6th scale Collectible Figure

Looking more into the figure, the versions they had weren't even in one package... two separate sets for $200 each (each had one sculpt and two/sort of three outfits and not much else)... geeze do they gouge us with their BL figures.

ahh, so with the backdrop and BD and non BD heads, 199 for HT bruce and what, 300 or so for EB bruce... HT Bruce, is just waaay more affordable and on par with EB's IMO

They are $200 each. So the pricing on Enterbays is comparable and not the quick over embelished prices many throw out as a generalized "Enterbay costs way more". Fact is they don't.

The mirror backdrop looks ace, but looking past that, it's probably not actual mirrors but a cheesy reflective material on cardboard.

It's definitely a reflective foil and not actual mirrors, but I'm glad they went that way to keep the cost down. Looks just as good to me.

Re: Hot Toys's DX04 - Enter the Dragon: Bruce Lee 1/6th scale Collectible Figure

you guys can debate all you want. who's better than who, but the fact is enter bay has a very good figure. but the hot toys one is very good as well, and will look even better once the figures is released. but for those who could not afford a enter bay bruce. this is great news that hot toys is giving us a bruce. it gives us a chance to own one like my self who's been saving for a eb bruce. i'll pick up a ht bruce and be very happy with this.:lecture

I don't see how this is even debatable.

One set from EB:
- One (1) headsculpt
- Two (2) Outfits
- One (1) weapon accessory

One set from HT:
- Two (2) headsculpts
- Two (2) outfits
- Three (3) weapons accessories
- Two (2) backdrops
- One (1) base

And I'm not even going to count how many different hands HT is including.

The value difference is on opposite ends, not even close.

:goodpost:

I like the HT version too and I'll be happy to own one as I didn't get any EB versions.

I dunno if this has been discussed because it's so minor but will the Western release of this figure say Bruce Lee on the name plate or is it going to be in Chinese?

Just finished watching Enter the Dragon. First time in like 20 years and I still remember the last fight scene to this day. Classic.

Re: Hot Toys's DX04 - Enter the Dragon: Bruce Lee 1/6th scale Collectible Figure

I was trying to find a EB FOF for "cheaper" but obviously had no luck with that. IMO the HT version (minus the BD sculpt) is as good if not better than the headsculpts of EB FOF.

Re: Hot Toys's DX04 - Enter the Dragon: Bruce Lee 1/6th scale Collectible Figure

I'm not trying to argue... rather, I'm pointing out facts...

You said they were comparable.

People are drawing the comparison on pricing on what is available here and now. Besides, ETB's ETDs are long sold out, with resale prices reflecting their exclusivity. And two hundred bucks three years ago is a lot more than that in today's money relatively speaking.

Two hundred bucks today gets more Bruce Lee bang-for-buck from Hot Toys than Enterbay. People want an Arnie Kim sculpt cause they think it's a superior sculpt? Fine, go pay the extra for it and good luck to them and their fat wallets.

There are a lot of people happy with the sculpt, happy with the accessories, and happy with the price. Arnie Kim did it better, ETB is all over this figure, blah blah blah. If you don't like the figure, don't freakin' buy it. Can it really be that simple?

This thread is now like, :panic:

Re: Hot Toys's DX04 - Enter the Dragon: Bruce Lee 1/6th scale Collectible Figure

Haha, he never really said which he thought was better, it looks like he was just commenting on the price comparisons.

Re: Hot Toys's DX04 - Enter the Dragon: Bruce Lee 1/6th scale Collectible Figure

:lol $200 each. That's fact and so, it's comparable. You choose to misrepresent me. That's not fair. You choose to misrepresent facts or use them in a maligning way against Enterbay. That's not fair. Fact is, if you want a $200 Enterbay Bruce you buy it for $200. You want a $200 HT Bruce. Now he's here. Now you have more choice. It's great to have heaps of accessories but you display one figure in one outfit, whether it's Enterbay or HT. For the first time you have a, pretty much an all encompassing, ETD Bruce Lee. For those that haven't been able to afford the best :lol, now you have a marvelous ETD Lee to quench your desire and jealousy of an Enterbay Bruce. I know I'll be purchasing one. Anyone who wants a Bruce Lee figure would be happy to buy this version. Those that are looking to spend their dollars elsewhere have the luxury of pointing out inconsequential, at least to me, details, they feel don't hit the mark.

Enterbay's Lee figures started high and each subsequent release has dropped in price. Even then it's hard because Enterbay released some figures with quality diorama's, but GoD was $350. WotD was $250, ETD's were $200. FoF was $320. Sold out has nothing to do with it. Hot Toys prices rise on the secondary market for an open ended edition. At least Enterbay edition sizes are fixed. This is why they tend to reach higher prices on the secondary market.

Sorry, I don't follow you. My point is that you can't - or at least I can't - find an ETB Bruce anywhere for the same money as what HT is releasing theirs for. So if people want a top-shelf Bruce today - then the HT version is cheaper.
