Re: Hot Toys's DX04 - Enter the Dragon: Bruce Lee 1/6th scale Collectible Figure

Did the Sideshow EX had a production limit? I don't remember if seeing it.

Might it also be that people are cancelling theirs for the Enterbay one? I don't think so, but hey, it could be.

I hope in the next newsletter it at least appear in the 30 days section.

750 for the exc.

They are just filling orders as they have a better idea of stock. Same thing happened with the guardian Predator.

Re: Hot Toys's DX04 - Enter the Dragon: Bruce Lee 1/6th scale Collectible Figure

I just double checked the date I added to the WL and it was 2/2/11... That was a damn quick conversion.

Re: Hot Toys's DX04 - Enter the Dragon: Bruce Lee 1/6th scale Collectible Figure

Even if that happens, the stated edition size was 200 which was listed immediately. Unless Sideshow lies about the edition size (and produces more than 200), If there are conversions later, it is going to be because they didn't fill the 200 slots up initially, and/or because there were genuine cancellations/credit card declines.

They didn't increase edition size to appease demand.

How do you know that they didn't open only 175 for preorder? We learned during Spooktacular with the SSE Dios, that this is what they do regularly.

First time ever ordering direct from Sideshow, first time pre-ordering, first time FlexPay.

Is it weird that the idea of getting a conversion email is more exciting than the actual prospect of owning the figure?

I'm on the waitlist and the excitement is killing me...can't explain it!!! Nothing like an email stating it's a CONVERSION...lol...

I hope this comes out next month in HK and then in April it comes to the states.

I'm not disputing this could happen, but this was the original post:

With Jason, they aren't filling orders in relation to a variable level of stock, because the edition number is static. They can fill orders in an incremental fashion if they want to, but they still only have 200 Jasons to go around.

But the ES for every exclusive is static. Otherwise it'd be inclusive. My point is with Jason, they might have "Sold Out" at 175 orders and are saving the other 25 for when he arrives and starts processing. Then they'll convert waitlists, replace broken statues, etc., as needed.

I did not say anything about Jason:dunno
I used the Guardian predator as an example, which I am sure, as Nam has already mentioned, translates to other collectibles as well.

Re: Hot Toys's DX04 - Enter the Dragon: Bruce Lee 1/6th scale Collectible Figure

So this figure might make it here until April. It better be vastly improved on both sculpts. The non battle damaged head looked more like Bruce than the bd one, but it still needed some work, though not as much as the bd one.

How many here think Arnie got his 2 cents on the sculpts? I know some will say that it is unethical or whatever just because Yulli started the sculpt, but hey, do companies work under the table or not?

Lee's a LOT closer to Lee than Indy is to Ford:

Re: Hot Toys's DX04 - Enter the Dragon: Bruce Lee 1/6th scale Collectible Figure

I haven't kept a close eye on the DX Indy thread - but no doubt comparisons with A___on Kutcher have been made...

Sorry to say it, but HT (and Kim) have really dropped the ball on this one. I can't recall a worse likeness of a character from HT of late, and of all the figures to get wrong.

But there again, Kim is the traditional master of the Bruce Lee sculpt, so his input would probably have been sought out by Yulli at the water cooler. I doubt Kim wouldn't have offered his opinion without it being asked for first, and I also doubt that Kim would have been 'directed' to provide input either.

I was just pointing out that Jason was an exception. I wasn't trying to suggest to you that your argument was wrong.

I understand what you are saying, but Balsquat's point was about a pre-order edition size, which has nothing to do with a discussion of changing stock levels as Sideshow realizes it can off-load stock held back as replacements. There are 200 Jasons. That's all there was gonna be. Sideshow wasn't going to jack up the Ed. size based on interest as it apparently does with other collectibles based on input from Hot Toys (as may have been the case here) and, more frequently, input based on consumer interest in pre-orders.

Wait, now I am confused. Were we not assuming that all edition sizes were static? That includes Bruce Lee at 750, Jason at 200 and Guardian at 500 or whatever that number was... I did not think there was any reason to assume that edition sizes were raised on the guardian just because wait-lists were being fulfilled.

:lol Dude. The answer to Balsy's question: Preorder size on an ES of 200 is likely 175-180. Then they close it and let the Waitlist fill up. Just because there are 200 pieces doesn't mean they open all 200 for preorder when the item goes up... capise?

Ignore him. He's having a MaulFan moment. :lol
