Well I don't think you need to be an obsessive to see that his head is too small for his body or that his outfit is just too clean.

edit - oh you did mention the body, sorry

It's not just that. This is like the Indian knockoff Indiana Jones. He's there in spirit but there're so many inaccuracies from hat to wardrobe to sculpt, you'd swear this was a newb kitbash from memory, not the most expensive DX figure to come out of the best 1:6 company on the market.

Whats the point of your continuing onslaught of this figure (and artist)? I get a sense of real hatred from you for this figure, this artist and this company. You are a broken record and keep repeating yourself. Whats the point, really? We all get it. You hate this figure. Great for you. What are you gaining by continually grinding your opinion into this thread? You are so certain that HT wont be fixing anything so whats your "goal"?

I do see the issues with the likeness and the body they chose, but is everything else really that bad?
The clothing and gear look pretty good... is it that inaccurate?

Is everything else that bad. Probably not. Some of the outfit might be useful on future Indy kit-bashes.

The focus of attention is it doesn't look like Harrison Ford. The headsculpt is wrong. And if it's not Ford, it's not Indy. The nicest 1:6 leather jacket around can't save a sh-tty sculpt.

People shouldn't have to upgrade 3 times to get a decent looking sculpt (Heath Ledger Joker) when it's a $250 collectible. HT underestimates how deep the river runs on Indiana Jones fan loyalty if they think they can kick out a 'good enough' figure.

I have to believe that this figure went back to the drawing board... The outcry has been fairly loud. Much louder than it was for Landa, or Falconer, or Jill, or Bruce Lee and all of those saw adjustments made.

Well, it is very uncommon for any company to release their figures weathered, even most of the soldier releases by all brands (DML, DiD, SS, SST, TC, HT) come, most often than not, with brand-spanking-new outfits, so I don't see why the uproar over Indy's clean outfit. Besides, it's not that difficult to dirty up a figure...

But again, other than the poor likeness and bad choice for body, I'm curious to understand what is so wrong about the rest of the figure, only out of curiosity, as I completely agree that without the likeness the rest is pretty much a moot point.

At any rate, I have a feeling that if I'd bought the Sideshow Indy, I probably wouldn't buy this one. I really don't see that much of a difference. Of course, I'm not a fan, so I don't really pay much attention to the figure.

Sideshow did with Indy. It's fairly subtle on the jacket, hat, pants, shoes, etc. but the weathering is there.

So does Hot Toys. The battle damaged IM aside, the gunmetal gray MKIII was weathered, all the T:S figures were weathered, their military figures, etc.

DELETED QUOTE

Your opinions are your opinion. Which I can respect. What my "point" to my question, which you clearly didn't answer, was what's the need to keep coming in to this thread repeating, day in and day out, the exact same thing over and over again? That to me is just plan trolling. To me it's no different than the NECA freaks trolling the HT Predator thread. It's like you just like to _____ about the figure and artist, and if you can get a rise out of people, that's just icing on the cake for you.

I thought there was an actual reasoning as to WHY you insist on destroying this thread...some sort of logic behind it....

I'm no fan of Nam, but destroying this thread? Really?
He doesnt have that power.
Just put him on ignore if you find him objectionable.

I have the SS Indy, and out of the box, he is very underwhelming. Even though there's some "weathering" it's very lack luster. You need to really do alot to it to look "right". I don't mind having to weather up this DX either.

Though I may go ahead and get the hatless HS repainted and use that on a HT Truetype to use for the Robed outfit that comes with the DX. The other hatted SS HS I may look at doing a TOD custom now...

To be honest I think saying good things or bad things about a Prototype that was shown December has run it's course. The best thing we can do now is to keep vocal on what we would like to see when the production figure is released in Quarter 3.

Once I see revisions have been made, then I will feel a need to come back to the thread to be happy, sad, pissed, or indifferent

That's a moronic, drama queen's perception if I've ever read one. First your argument was that I hate Andy Kim and Hot Toys. When that backfired, now I'm here to solely destroy this thread? :lol

I'm not here to "destroy" this thread. If that were the case I would've gotten it locked with a huge flame war responding to Kuzeh's numerous and repeated childish provocations. That's not the case. You've no less right to pop in here and crank HT's shaft than I do to reiterate what I find wrong with the figure. If it's bothering you, I'd suggest either putting me on ignore or just not coming back until there's an official update. But even then, I'm not going anywhere. Should HT do the work needed (and it's a lot), I'll be more than happy to buy it. If they don't, I'll be more than happy to publicly call them on a figure that doesn't match the standard they set and really isn't worthy of belonging in their library.
