To be fair, this figure will probably sell more than most of those other figures combined based on pre order numbers, and that's why it (& Jack Joker) are coming out now.

Probably more QC combined too.

Get used to it, it's pretty much the HT business model. While Hot Toys will make figures from older properties, anything that's easily done and a big money maker and is just coming out, gets high priority with them.

In this instance, The Dark Knight Rises is going to be one of their biggest licenses in 2012, they're releasing '89 Batman figures to get fans back in Bat mode before that film, and they will be pushing to get the '89 figures out quick so that they can move onto the TDKR figures.

The figures you listed have nothing in HT's eyes to rush them over. Tron has come and gone, as has Sucker Punch and Avatar, and there's no sequels or anything on the horizon like Batman so they take their sweet time with them.

It's annoying, but after a few times of seeing things play out like such, you tend to just get used to it and plan around it.

I'm happy for you guys don't get me wrong, but how would you feel if three figures you ordered were delayed and a figure up for order AFTER came out first?

First come, first serve, not the reverse.

And Avatar has two Sequels coming & Tron may have another, Batman '89 has none, as well as Batman '89 having come & gone.

I had this figure ordered, but decided the only way to stop HT screwing up rubber figures was to not give them my money for them :lecture

I'm debating a second one as well just to store for a rainy day.

This figure will not store, it will degrade. HT will continue using the same defective process for rubber figures cos people keep buying them that way and complaining after on deaf ears.

Can't wait for this!!! Super excited!!!
Yes it sucks that this is coming before Amber and Baby Doll and Tron but freakin aye this is Batman 89!!!!! Those I'm sure will follow shortly after!

Pretty sure we have all been through that and it is standard that just because product goes up for sale in a certain order doesn't ever mean it will be released in that same order.

That may be, but having it three all at once and one of them being up for order since early last year with every single figure announced after having already been released is feckin infurriating!!!!

As Pix said, prototype reveal order isn't related to release order. Some figures run into issues in product and take longer than planned, sometimes HT makes changes/additions to figures that force them to take longer, and as I said, I believe they also prioritize things to suit their needs.

As for the films, Avatar has nothing in 2012 and Tron's a maybe.

Yes, Batman 1989 has no sequel, but in the broad sense, there is a new Batman movie. Hot Toys like to ride the hype of new movies in a franchise with figures from older ones. HT put out Terminator Salvation figures and they were very successful and they rolled right into Terminator 2 and The Terminator.

The Dark Knight Rises comes out this summer, The Dark Knight figures were HUGE for Hot Toys, they'll be rolling out TDKR figures, the Batman '89 figures allow them do something fun, but also starts getting the HT collector-base in a Batman mood again in addition to the Demons Bats and Begins Bats figures. They also have to erase the mess that was DX02 Batman from people's minds before TDKR so the more rubber suit Batmans they can put out before then to show they've moved on from that mess, the better for them.

It sucks, but Sucker Punch, Tron and Avatar aren't as big in the collecting world as Batman has established himself, HT focuses on the big money like re-releasing Predators and making up Iron Mans, so sadly for some, Batman will win out over other things.

I understand the frustration that you're still waiting for other stuff, but if you're going to collect 1/6 figures from the likes of Sideshow or Hot Toys where they're making a great number of figures each year, you have to realize just because you order something at a given date, doesn't mean it'll show up before other things, usually the companies are good about it and stay on track, but from time to time they don't and it's pretty common and normal.

Announced around the same time as Batman and that has a figure on it's way, MGs hasn't even had a teaser :slap :gah:

It is pretty sad man. and with TDKR on the way MGS figures will likely get pushed back :lol I'm pretty sure they'll show something around SDCC. This is a license that they can MILKKKKK and have so many characters and variations they can do - quite surprising they haven't released anything.

Pretty excited for Batman 89 making a much earlier release than anticipated. I was thinking March!!

You're very well spoken Maulfan and best of all you don't insult a person over their non-batman interests.

It's not just that a figure is getting released before them, it's that it's Batman and Iron Man Figures, two licenses that i like, and two licenses that i'm sick of seeing everywhere.

The hype and fanboy extremes of Nolan's batman in particular have started to make me hate the films, not because of the films themselves but because they are everywhere.

I go to the DC section and every single thread is about Batman, more specifically Nolan's Batman, with maybe one for Superman and one for a SSC Batman piece, i go to the Marvel section and there is Cap, Thor, Hulk, Iron Man, Blade, Wolverine, X-Men and others, interests for all.

I go to the Hot Toys FB page and there are TDKR movie stills and promotional stuff and spoiler posted every other day as well as people who missed the Recent remake (not even six months old) of the Begins suit asking for it to be remade & asking for 1/6 Batcaves and Helicoptors and other insane prospects, and while this happens the figures i want from other licenses are ignored either completely or by getting 1-2 figures only.

They may not be as commercially blockbusting or excessivley publicised as The goddamn Batman, but i and others like and want them to get the attention due them.

Nolan is the new George Lucas, people are kissing his arse left right and center. The films are good and i enjoy them, but they aren't the be all and end all of movies and due the amount if collectibles they have gotten, i don't think any film is.

I haven't watched Begins/TDK in about 5 months and i feel like i watched it 16 times in the last 4 weeks, cos it's everywhere, all the time. And as someone said, this is just a precursoe to another never ending cylcle of Nolan Batman stuff.

*in other words Sucker Punch sucked :lol

You didn't like it, that's fine, but i don't insult what you like so don't be a ****** about the stuff i and others like.

I understand the tire of Nolan Batman and Iron Man taking up all the hardcore attention of Hot Toys, and I understand your feelings, I'm trying to share with you as someone who's been really annoyed and I've just learned to accept it is what it is.

I love Pirates of the Caribbean and Terminator and Rambo and Rocky and other things that HT's gotten into but then seems to just ignore for no apparent reason and shake my head at the overkill of stuff.

It's nice that HT's doing '89 Batman, but it'd be better if they did it out of pure support for that film and no ties to any other Bat film coming out.

This is why I argue that people shouldn't get hopes up about Batman Returns or any of the older films any time soon, or even more '89, we've got 2 figures and the Batmobile, I don't expect to see anything non-Nolan until TDKR is totally milked, and even then, just when you think it is, they'll find something ala Joker DX 2.0 and keep it going.
