I would say DX Jack Sparrow. While he suffers a couple inaccurracies, the ammount and quality of the detail work from paint to sculpting work, the amazing tailoring that makes a 3 layer costume not bulk at all without looking or feeling cheap, and everything else. While I don't own it, I'd also say either, especially the new, Mark I Iron Man would also fit the bill. I'm thinking from a standpoint, if Hot Toys could have only 1 figure to show the world to say, here's the best we can do and all that we're capable of, and by that, Batman doesn't show off ALL they can do, he is a stunning example of some of the things they can do, but not all of it, I think Jack and Iron Man Mark I really encompass all of the areas that a 1/6 figure maker could do work in and offer great examples of work in those areas.

Excellent post.

truth well told

See, I feel no need to jump into the Nolan threads and list all the reasons why I am not really a fan of those films. I realize that many people do and I am totally cool with that. If you want to prefer them, that is your choice and it isn't really my place to point the finger and say "you're wrong for liking those and my favorites are better because..."

Different strokes for different folks. I much prefer the Burton take on the franchise, and I always will. Doesn't mean that you are wrong for preferring Nolan... it just means we like two different things, and that's okay.

Good points, but as far as Burton taking over the franchise, wasn't going to happen. Like Donner had with the problems of the producers, the Salkinds on the Superman movies. I believe Burton had many issues on the creative flow between him and producers John Peters and Peter Gruber and the production company while filming Batman Returns, which
led him to decline any work on future Batman films. Also he admitted that the process of taking on the Batman films were physically and mentally draining to him.

I think it was addressed to Burton that his vision was also becoming to dark and twisted. after Returns and if he was going to attempt another Batman fil, he had to lighten the tone and mood of the movies.

Oh yeah... I am just referring to the 2 films Burton directed, not the rest of the franchise. Sorry if I wasn't clear there... :)

No problem, I kinda would've like too see Tim tackle at least Batman Forever, just to see how his vision of the Riddler would've come on the big screen, since the Riddler is one of my favorite villians in the comics, cartoons, etc.

And I can never forget about Frank Gorshin's legendary performance as the riddler in the Adam West series. :yess:

and congrats on your Keaton purchase! Nice to see you had money to burn for it. Some sacrifices are worth it and from what I've seen of this piece, there was no way I wasn't going to wait any longer :hi5:

Aside from Nicholson's Joker, the only thing that really takes me out of the Burton films is the lifeless, soundstage feel. Nothing feels "real", though I guess you could argue that that was by design.

The best part of the Burton Films were the artstyle period! I think his was the coolest looking batman (in film), but Nolans is a close second

I really wish i could afford this now but not on my budget :(

Plus Burton's Batman never hesitated to snuff out a few bad guys without thinking twice.

They did extensive research on the feeling of Gotham in the comics and Burton said himself in past interviews that he already envisioned Europe to possess the qualities and resonance he was looking for in the ideal of Gotham City. :clap

Seller is away until Jan 30th. I would just go through SSC.

If i go with sideshow it will cost me $265 plus import fees which is another 40 bucks.

I used to always order from toys2, but they seem to be getting their stock after sideshow lately which is very strange.

:yess: I watched this film earlier, Burton's Batman doesn't have the one rule.

Lol, yup. Guns, bombs, Flames, dropping people from tall heights. Whatever gets the job done and sends a real fear to baddies and a message of "Don't F' with The Batman".

Love Nolan's Bats as well. Totally 2 different animals the works well in their respective worlds.

Isn't SSC the exporter for HT in all of Canada? So why would Toys2 get it before SSC?
