I don't know why it is, but this BATMAN is probably the very first figure that I have ever seen...even over the other BATMAN versions/figures I have (previous HT, Medicom, DC Direct) that just looks good with that simple 'head slightly down' standing pose.

They have captured it so well that there is very little else you need to do to it.

IMO, every Batman ever made looks good that way.

It's mind-boggling how HT made this figure 99% perfect; no mods needed, no defective parts, no warped cowls or broken ankles. And yet, after god knows how many attempts at Nolan Batman (and Joker), they still can't get it right. MENTAL.

imo Pan should have been appointed to sculpt for Nolan Bats too considering the exceptional job he did with the DX 09..

PERS eyes not working, bad cutting around the cowl and yes the PERS panel not fitting (which wasn't a big deal for me). The way you said it makes it sound like all 100% DX09 figures were perfect.

Please see that I said 99% in my original post.

Aside from the defects others have mentioned, there's the gauntlets (whose fins have broken off for many owners), the fact that the cowl doesn't lay flat against the cape/body (the plastic warps upwards), and the PERS design is crap (that terrible, visible panel - there's no excuse for it, given the elegant solution used for DX02).

I mean, if you set aside all the problems it has, then yes, it is, by definition, perfect.

:rolleyes2

My only problem with this figure, since day 1 has been the PERS panel on the back of the head and the lack of an angry scowl expression. Maybe they could have thrown in a second belt that was a little darker gold as well.

Those are my only complaints. Other than that it's one of my favorite figures in my collection. Never had a problem with the gauntlet blades (*knock on wood*), the integrity of the rubber suit (*knock on wood*), the way the head sits on the body or any of those problems people have spoke of in this thread.

It's one of the best pieces in my collection and has a huge presence. The figure, the likeness, the accuracy, the accessories, it's very well done. It's the best high end collectible Batman figure to date (other than the Enterbay 1/4 Batman, not sure how that is since I don't own it).

I own multiples of this guy and so far, absolutely no problems. The only thing that I could see Hot Toys improving with an "89 V2 2.0" is, again, the PERS panel (should have made it accessible under the head ala DX 02) and the construction of the suit. Segmented armor pieces on a wet suit.

Can't wait for the Hot Toys Batman Returns figure that'll be shown in a few months. Surely they'll include the Bruce Wayne headsculpt, new weapons/features and hopefully we don't see the same PERS design on the back of the head.

Yep the visible PERS panel definitely is an issue, that's why I made sure to pose the figure in such a way that it would not appear in my line of sight.

Other than that, absolutely phenomal figure. And might I recommend getting the CR Superman to display beside it.

1) Comes with extra gauntlet blades.

2) The cowl can easily be made to lay flat by applying a little heat.

3) I do agree the PERS panel is ugly, but I never think about it anymore.

4) You forgot to mention what a pain in the ass the cape is.

..the fact that the cowl doesn't lay flat against the cape/body (the plastic warps upwards)..
Hang on.. but how many people have had that actually happen to theirs?? :huh

Mine's 100% fine / a-ok. I'll admit - I've been out of this thread for a while, but I kept up with things pretty staunchly up until not that long ago..

The only real thing I would say was a complaint (if that) is the frustrating nature of the poseability of the cape.

That's all. :dunno
