I think every owner of this batman (or the dx2) have superglued at least 1 spike

Actually, I never knew that was a problem until now. The only issue my DX-09 had was a missing shuriken (or whatever you call them). Nothing major.

Spikes on mine holding steady. no intervention required except an occasional dusting... he's such a magnet for dust..

1 of the right arms spikes fell, while I was futzig the cape, just one... I know this happens on the Dx 02, and it not big deal... actualy HT have superglued one on the oficial prototipe pictures of the Dx12 jajaja, but they photoshoped it later.

Mine sprouted a leak, one circular leak on his left chest, right under the bat sign and two lines on his left thigh, with one starting under the paper thingy that I haven't removed.

Its sticky to the touch so its oil all right.

No comment. :wink1:

Oh good grief, not again.

I still think that this is a light lubricant that is used to get the suit on more easily...that is getting through the suit through the process of capillary action. Via which it will travel through stitch holes, along seams, and between two closely pressed-together surfaces. I use this very same principle to glue model parts together, the liquid adhesive travels the length of the seam like magic. A light lubricant, like our WD40 or something similar will do exactly the same thing.

Once again, my two are totally oil free. :gah:

Who wants to start the countdown clock for Nam's first re-appearance on this thread?

Gah, set up some lights in my detolf... and now the seam on top of his head is visible. Hate how they did that... probably would've preferred no pers. Or at least not have the plate go all the way to the top of his head.

And the damn face plate edge is hard to hide.

nothing on mine too, I have it since april, and It's has been under a lot of strees, a lot of temperature changes... Maybe It's just some finger print on yours, or some fabric oil.

I am convinced this is still nothing. Another genuine misidentification, seriously no offence Rorywan, I know you were quite upset last time.

I wasn't upset about the oil. I wasn't upset at all, I don't get upset over toys. I just had enough of the "I have no oil on mine therefore there is not a problem posts".

So I got the **** out of here for a while, glad I did. As I mentioned previously I have 5 DX09 Batmen. 2 Of which have oil on their torsos. But that's just a figment of my imagination apparently.

I'm staying out of it this time. But I will check in from time to time to see when the mass hysteria begins for real.

:lol

Please note, RW, I never said it was a figment of your imagination. I said it was a genuine (and with all the best intention... primarily to inform and warn) misidentification. And surely the lack of symptoms, in a case like this, is just as important and telling as actually having the problem.

That's what I suggested it was.

Like I said, I am not out to annoy or upset anyone. So if I have, I'm sorry, such was NOT my intention.

How do you know it was "misidentification" though mate? It absolutely wasn't. Isn't.
Seriously I'm not getting roped into this conversation again, but how do you know that some of these figures are not faulty? That some may start leaking just like the DX02? At some point in the present or future?

You can't, nobody can know that. And I have 2 of these figures that continue to leak oil just like my DX02 did. End of story.

And that's the only issue I have a problem with in this discussion, as I posted above. It's amazing how quickly people have forgotten the DX02 fiasco and how it went down on these boards.

But no offence taken personally mate.:1-1:
I shall make no further comment on the situation, but I will read with interest how this story develops.

I have an off topic yet related question! (no oil leak that is)
I just bought a slew of parts for this figure off sbay, they are coming
Out of Malaysia and Hong Kong. Im asking because im worried these
Pieces are recast , not legitamate !

Well, on those terms, all I have are my own experience with three rubber bodied figures, observations about other owners' figures and - yes I am honest enough to admit it - wishful thinking....which I prefer to label as 'optimism'

Don't misunderstand me, I am not saying that HT's rubber has not degraded...I am supremely lucky with my DX02. It has been fine for going on 5 years now. So I reached the 'misidentification' conclusion because this has died down an all the major forums...including this one, and the number of cases seems to be a bare minimum. I have not set out to provoke or antagonise anyone.

Will it happen to all in the future? It's possible, given HT's track record with rubber. I will not say "NEVER". Don't worry about answering Rory, as long as I know that I did not offend you, and that we're good, then that's fine.
