Yep, you win some, you lose some is about all it is, really. I basically fund my hobby with my hobby but I always buy what I enjoy. If I can sell something at a profit later on and buy the next thing that I'd like to see on my shelf then all the better. But if something drops in price later on instead it still doesn't diminish my enjoyment of the piece.

I recently made several stupid 1/6 buys.

I bought the TDK armory weapons/tools/gadgets for $70 when the sets were first parted out in Hong Kong. Dunno why I did it, but I did. Then I thought I could build up a Robocop cheap on ebay from one of the many Hong Kong dealers. All I wanted was the head, torso, legs and arms so I could throw on the extra damaged helm, gritting teeth, and damaged chest that will come with the full figure I have on order to take advantage of both looks. What happened? I was only able to score the torso+neck peg for $44. I literally have a Hot Toys Robocop torso with the remote in one of my storage trays because I'm unwilling to spend an additional $200 for the legs and head since the sellers on ebay decided to stop starting their auctions at .99 cents. What am I going to do with that? Who would want to buy it?

I feel like an *****, sure, but then I think about the $70 Two-Faces I bought from Joe on here waaaay back when and recently sold for $500 each. Then I think about all those great deals I got from Redfordfilms.com back when they used to have heavily discounted Hot Toys figures. Or the BR Joker I paid $110 for. Or the DX 01 Joker I paid $130 for. Or the Red and blue Spider-Man I paid $100 for. Then there's all those spooktacular and Christmas free rewards points sitting in my account.

It all evens out.

The Two Face eludes me. I refuse to pay current aftermarket for such a mediocre figure. Ill keep searching for one for the price I want to pay and the hole in my Nolan collection is not bothering me anymore now that AoU figures are on the horizon.

I get what you guys are saying about making up for what was lost in another figure, I really do. My post was a reaction to a 'what if' scenario that this becomes a common thing with all HT figures. Also remember, I said I would like to have the option to get my money back if i decide to sell, not make money, as that was a important part of my comment.

To make it all simple, imagine the bottom falling out on ALL of your figures. That is what I was speculating about. Imagine not having the other figures to make up for the loss.

If that were to happen would you still feel good about spending the same amount of money you are now? I would think not, as Difabio you have already stated that you were done with PO.

Okay. I finally caved and ordered this bad boy. At $144 shipped plus $17 in reward points it was just too good of a deal to pass up. Not sure what I am going to do with two Jack Jokers and only one Keaton Batman but looking forward to getting him

It's so weird that this figure sold so badly. Is it because of the costume or the lack of accessories? or both? I had been wanting him for awhile, but could not justify the $230 when there were so many other figures I would rather have, but at this price I just could not resist any longer. As others have said, worst case scenario I can probably get back my $140 if I regret the purchase later.

I picked this up during Spooktacular, $144, too good to pass up. Can't wait to see it.
Me too :hi5:

You must have me confused with somebody with talent and creativity :p

Yeah it was an amazing deal.

While it's a Jack Joker, it's not his iconic look from the film. Plus, most casual fans won't remember where he sported it. If it were a Ledger Joker on the other hand....

Yeah, I'm sure you're probably right. It's certainly not the most iconic look and he only had this look in one pretty short scene. I heard even the regular Jack Joker DX08 didn't sell to well and that boggles my mind.

I'm looking to pick up a DX08 and I'm shocked/pleasantly surprised that it's still only slightly above retail. Just how many of those did HT make? I can envision thousands still sitting in warehouses in China.
