Keaton Batman must have been popular if they have him in a big *** display case by himself along with that, I'm guessing important manager CEO guy playing with the Batmobile.

Dunno why they'd advertise old merchandise though. Why not the Returns Batman with all his stuff and the Manager playing with Penguin and Catwoman?

This was the grand opening of the Kingdom Come flagship store in Bangkok. They were displaying old figures because they sell old figures.

They're going to rerelease DX09 as a die cast version.

:rotfl Why not? It worked out well for Play Imaginative. :rotfl

Its actually pretty creepy, that SNL joke up there is likely true. Funny, but funny creepy.

I'm serious though, I would love to go to China. Very curious about the New World. Sex monkeys scare me though.

I'm curious if we might see this in the next few weeks, they just announced the Ichabod Crane figure "in celebration of the 'The World of Tim Burton' exhibition in Japan that begins this November." I really do want to see Penguin and Catwoman, though. I was never the biggest fan of the film, but I've grown to appreciate it more over the years, and, as it is Batman, I do have a vested interest in it. That, combined with the fact that, aesthetically, Penguin and Catwoman are just damn cool to look at, makes me really interested in seeing these put out there.

This hobby is just amazing in the feats it continues to reach, and I've gotten to a point now, where I pretty much think "anything can happen." 10 years ago, hell, 5 years ago, people were saying that 89 figures would never, ever happen, because of the various rights entanglements, and how Nicholson was notoriously stingy with his likeness rights, and whatever else. Less than a year later, we see a couple of teasers, and, by 2012, we've got the figures in hand. At the same time, people were joking about how cool 1966 figures would be, and the general consensus was that the rights were too tangled up to get the show itself in our hands, let alone actual products. The irony of the situation being that the figures came out over 6 months before the actual show finally is.

I'm an Arkham fan, and that was a rocky road, with as long as it took, so, with figures from this line, the '66 Batmobile, and whathaveyou, I tend to take an optimistic approach.

Great post. I'm guessing the problem here is potential sales no being high enough rather than rights but your post illustrates how you can never say never in this hobby. One day I'll own a Hot Toys James Bond figure.

I've been to Thailand. Rumors are true. Treated some many STDs... ugh.

So long as HT and other companies continue to make improvements and advancements in their craft, anything's possible. I love Jack, but let's face it, he's an egotistical bastid, like most legendary, A-list actors are. He never would've signed off on a fig unless he was paid a bundle and his likeness was spot-on.

As for BR, I hope the Bats PO goes up very soon and I really hope HT fakes us all out and unveils CW and Penguin, if not by Christmas, then by SDCC 2015.

One day I'll own a Hot Toys Timothy Dalton Bond figure. And on that day the world will end.

Oh, definitely. 89's got something of a "cult classic" status now, but I think Returns is still pretty divisive among Batman fans, and it's one of those films that's kind of gone by the wayside with people who aren't Batman fans, and I think that's reflected in HT's treatment of the line. With that being said, I think that what it all comes down to is Batman. A lot of people want a Keaton, but don't want to pay secondary market prices, or they prefer Returns' more armored look, or what have you, but I think, at the end of the day, sales for this figure, at least, should be good.

As much as prices have risen, I think people don't care as much about how much they're paying as what they're getting for that amount. If this guy comes with nothing but three faceplates, a couple Batarangs, and three sets of hands for $25 more than the DX 09, then, it might be a harder sell, but if they go all out, and include the glider, the Keaton head, etc. for $50 more, I see the DX 15 selling quite well, and, honestly, I see that affecting our chances of a Penguin and Catwoman.

Why only one? If Hot Toys bought the Bond licence, there could be a number of Dalton figures:

- Black fatigues (The Living Daylights)
- Beige Suit (The Living Daylights)
- Dinner Jacket (Licence To Kill)*
- Blue Suit, Battle Damaged (Licence To Kill)

* I know Sideshow did this one already, but Hot Toys could do a more move accurate one, complete with velcro strap.

Don't forget Afghan Bond.

Getting back to BR I think the glider could really help sell the set, there's never been anything like it for a character that does a lot of flying.

I think they'll work a full Wayne figure in there somehow. Like Weller. It doesn't make sense to go through all the hoops of Keaton's full likeness, the first one licensed, NECA's 1/4 scale under the cowl aside, and not make a full figure.
