Damn I just realized the hype blinded me to the fact that the figure has the same collar Kevlar issue as the last two versions. It’s too rounded and comes out of the clavicle area to far towards the shoulders. It should come up from closer to the sternum and sweep across the clavicle.

Just slightly over $100, honestly I spend more on dinner at least once a week being in LA so it’s not a big deal. I’m sure I could have snagged one for less eventually but I’m ready to slice and dice and don’t want to wait on my sideshow POs to start testing out ideas.

I could take measurements off the figure I have coming from HK but I really don’t like to do extensive testing on my only figure. I’m as much of a collector as customizer and if I make a mistake on my only copy I get OCD until I can get another in hand.

So I’ll use this spare cowl to test fit new chins on and maybe play around with removing the eye plate to see how it’s constructed. I suspect I will like the size of the eyes in person but if I don’t I may experiment with printing a new eye plate that the stock eye balls can pop into.

Yeah I can relate with the OCD and having to buy a second copy haha.

But...wouldn’t it have been nice if you DIDN’T have to mod the figure in the first place?

Man, I REALLY REALLY REALLY hope IA crushes it with their version.

OT, how do you fasten your capes on your DX12/Armory figures? Since I assume they don't have the clips the stock capes use.

They have little half inch cylinders of bonded fabric at the attachment points. This has the effect of pulling the material together to create folds at the collar as well as being able to reliably hold the cape on. You can just use a small screw driver, scissors, or a batarang to push them into the armor.

Really digging the changes axess5252 on instagram did
They say Cape is Jaxon Xu and body modification by themself
I think the only change was the fists? In comments they say cowl is stock

im thinking its possible he's gonna start working on the shoulder and neck area next. but it depends how much its worth it for you to get an accurate looking bale batman. i was quoted about $160 for a repaint and body mod through him for a bvs batman.

But, for those that have been along for the ride since the original MMS, this is pretty underwhelming. As I mentioned in another post, I can’t believe they’re still using the same hands since the original MMS from over a decade ago. They couldn’t be bothered to give us better gestures and/or more detailed hands? That most likely means TDK Joker 3.0 if/when it releases will also have the same inaccurate hands it’s had for years

I know some will be happy with it as is, but in general, with any company, I’m sort of getting tired of having to fix things for them, be it myself or buying custom pieces. Regular collectors shouldn’t have to go out of their way to make things more accurate when someone like HT has more resources than the majority of us and could’ve easily made adjustments themselves.
:goodpost: I've purchased and tweaked every version since the original MMS, (not to mention the Medicom modding) and I just can't keep doing it. I cancelled my DX19 pre-order and will stand my ground until something comes along that addresses the issues that HT continues to ignore.

I wonder how sales are considering Hot Toys and Sideshow resort to these pretentious product demo videos? Is this a relatively new practice. This was never a thing back in the day, it was always those cool blogger pics and first hand shots. The fact that they need to hype these things up in live streams and three part videos make me wonder if the interest just isn’t what it used to be and maybe people are reluctant to buy $300 that are just “okay”.

Love how the narrator is like “NEW BODY AND SUIT DESIGN FOR MAXIMUM POSING” and it’s just shot after shot of him doing the Captain Morgan barrel leg. I mean Christ, atleast pose him a bit. Those Sideshow dudes did the same thing in the vid yesterday. Just one plain vanilla pose with him with the EMP gun.

The eyes bother me the most. They refuse to give him the squinted eyes which are a notable hallmark of Bale's Batman, particularly with this suit. I guess a reason for this is their insistence on moving eyes.

Also their usual neglect to achieve a natural neck/shoulder transition - instead you get flat square shoulders and giraffe necks.

I had the MMS and DX02, and while the DX02 vastly improved on body proportions, the head was a major step down.

I also ended up with a DX02 with the hard plastic ab armor because my original figure suffered the oil leak issue and I had to exchange it.

Unfortunately, I was not in a position to buy high end figures when DX12 and the Armory came out, so for me, this is a welcome opportunity to get back a suit in my collection and the best available figure of it.

Last input on the matter, I have no skin in the race as I'm not getting it.

But all the complaints about it not being perfect... who really cares? NO company gets these things perfect. Inart definitely isn't going to get anything perfect. Their proto for Joker and his purple coat is pretty far from perfect to begin with, a really hefty stiff fabric which isn't screen accurate at all. Their 1/3 Joker and Batman aren't 100 percent accurate either, so it's safe to say their 1/6 definitely won't be. Sure, they may be better than Hot Toys', we won't know until they release, but they damn well better be if they're going to cost more.

To think this release isn't great is absurd to be frank. Show me another 1/6 Batman that isn't custom and in the same pricing that does get it perfect. Sometimes I think people can't see the tree's through the forest. Like I said, I'm over Hot Toys, but to dismiss this release because there's not a significant visual improvement is a bit much. There's clearly a lot of improvement, and like I said before all of the new customers who haven't had one before are going to love this.

They probably just saw the amount of hype QS was able to create with one video package.

Honestly, the improvements to the pants alone have me noticing how off my Armory figure is.

Noticing more and more that the Wayne head and cowl really is a scaled down 1/4th version. I always wondered why they didn't do that 9 years ago.

I agree, nothing is perfect and we could nit pick and find just as many inaccuracies in every other figure including QS (yes, their Joker isn't perfect either). I mean their 1/3 sculpt and cowl aren't even good as this 1/6.

I don't have skin on this game either but the point being made, which I think is valid, is that this is Hot Toys's 5th attempt (?) and it's still not how it should be. I think it wouldn't garner complaints if this was their 2nd attempt. Especially with all the customs and feedback available throughout the years, they're still unable to produce the "perfect" version.

They scale down the 1/4 cowl but then do the most laziest of jobs with the Batman Begins figure by reissuing an 11 year old figure. Good ol Hot Toys.

Also it's not crazy that people point out the issues this figure has. As Bleah has said, this isn't the second time Hot Toys has done this figure. This is the 5th time they're attempting this suit. Holy hell, how many attempts do they need before they nail it? 6? 10?

There's no doubt that it's a great looking figure but for people who have been collecting for a while, it's just sad to see the same errors over and over and over again.
