They scale down the 1/4 cowl but then do the most laziest of jobs with the Batman Begins figure by reissuing an 11 year old figure. Good ol Hot Toys.

Also it's not crazy that people point out the issues this figure has. As Bleah has said, this isn't the second time Hot Toys has done this figure. This is the 5th time they're attempting this suit. Holy hell, how many attempts do they need before they nail it? 6? 10?

There's no doubt that it's a great looking figure but for people who have been collecting for a while, it's just sad to see the same errors over and over and over again.

Which batman begins figure is from the last pic?

Last input on the matter, I have no skin in the race as I'm not getting it.

But all the complaints about it not being perfect... who really cares? NO company gets these things perfect. Inart definitely isn't going to get anything perfect. Their proto for Joker and his purple coat is pretty far from perfect to begin with, a really hefty stiff fabric which isn't screen accurate at all. Their 1/3 Joker and Batman aren't 100 percent accurate either, so it's safe to say their 1/6 definitely won't be. Sure, they may be better than Hot Toys', we won't know until they release, but they damn well better be if they're going to cost more.

To think this release isn't great is absurd to be frank. Show me another 1/6 Batman that isn't custom and in the same pricing that does get it perfect. Sometimes I think people can't see the tree's through the forest. Like I said, I'm over Hot Toys, but to dismiss this release because there's not a significant visual improvement is a bit much. There's clearly a lot of improvement, and like I said before all of the new customers who haven't had one before are going to love this.

It’s not entirely fair to handwave constructive criticism. As I’ve repeatedly said, it’s the 5th time, from the same company, and it’s still got issues that are either new or repeats from ten years ago. If someone is new to the hobby and DX19 will be their first Baleman figure...sure, you’re technically right, it is a great figure. But for those such as myself that has collected every version of this character since the first MMS, hoping the next one will be “it”, don’t wanna break out the knives, epoxy, paint, hair dryer for the FIFTH time.

If you’ve been collecting for as long as I have (please don’t take this as a “flex”), then you would have definitely seen and engaged in debates/arguments about striving for perfection. let’s not kid ourselves here, there’s no such thing as the perfect figure...BUT, they can come pretty damn close.

I’m not one to spot errors immediately. At times I don’t even notice them unless they’re pointed out to me. But if those mistakes are repeated FIVE times in a row, even untrained eyes like mine will pick up on them. So yes, this figure is FLAWED.

Is it atrocious like some would have you believe? NO. Of course not. That’s going too far.

Is it an underwhelming and uninspired release? YES. Absolutely.

One can argue this comes pretty damn close

Eh, hard disagree.

again, it being the fifth time, My reaction from looking at photos/videos shouldn’t be “but...it’s still got that...what about this...how did they repeat tha...wha?? How??”

I’ll say it again, if it’s someones first Baleman, then I see where the excitement is coming from.

Yeah, shopotcustoms.com, I only have a limited number of items listed but plan to do a big relaunch of my 1:6 TDK stuff once I get this figure. I can post updates here too since there’s not a great organic way to keep an eye on the website.

I have digital files of the enterbay chins and I’m considering scaling them down and reshaping to fit the DX19 cowl since the chin plates appear to have turned out too small on the production piece.

I’m thinking I’ll photograph the back of the new chin and print it out larger, trace it onto a clear film and then tape that on my iPad to match the digital shape to cut the Enterbay chin with. Should result in a perfect fit with only a few test prints.
I'll get one of your capes for the DX19 when you have them ready.

Any chance you'll be doing another run of the 1/4 scale capes?

It's not that I disagree, my striving for as close to perfection is towards JND. Because I want realistic portraits and real materials etc. I think I've come to understand, due to very little we know in the R+D and technicalities for making these figures, but I've no doubt in my mind that some decisions are as an affect due to articulations, due to the scale and also just due to artistic interpretation, and probably a combination of it all. There isn't ever going to be a spot on 1/6 figure, there just isn't. So for me then it comes down to well is it close enough... and yeah this is.

I understand it's frustrating in other areas, for example cowl shape or something similar - why can't it be nailed? I don't know, got to be some reason, I really find it hard to believe that they don't have good technical artists in this aspect. But even companies like JND at a much larger scale and being able to afford better materials without worry of articulation still get aspects wrong. These are artistic toys, it's fun to analyse every single aspect, and as much to a certain degree I understand an annoyance of not hitting enough of a perfection for some people... well, like I said, can't see the forest through the trees (lol got it the wrong way 'round earlier).

Guess it comes down to point of view. For me, scale, articulation etc. with what we get from most of these toys at the price they are, I'm not really going to complain. Thing's like likeness etc. sure, but other than that, nah. I'll venture elsewhere for a more realistic interpretation.

Completely disagree with underwhelming and uninspired. Again, we've been in this for a long while, we're used to seeing a lot, and not a lot has changed. You can argue the same thing with video games now, for example I find the majority of them boring and lacking in comparison to 10 years ago. My hayday of gaming was the bridge from PS2 to Xbox 360 and some extent just after that, all of the big graphical changes and technical changes were very noticeable, very wow. Now hardly any of it is noticeable, doesn't mean great stuff isn't coming out. We're just used to it, been in the game too long my friend.

And just to touch upon again, with Inart they're creating a new market. Consider then a next gen upgrade as a console. You'll see minor upgrades like rooted hair and unarticulated arms with magnets, but at the expense of being more. Anyway, shame we can't all see things with brand new eyes.

The last one is their QS 1/4 Batman Begins figure. The other photos are from the abomination that they're reissuing for the 1/6 Begins figure.
Hope its better than the previous re-issue.
The OG batman begins was my very first Hot Toys. When Hot Toys re-issued it the 2nd time, I bought one as I thought it would be better than the original.
It wasnt. The rubber body was much thinner. Also the black paint or whatever they used on the body started flaking off.
One day I picked it up and the boots just fell as the ankles broke by itself. When you have them side by side, you can see the quality on the old one was much better, the OG suit was glossier, smoother and thicker. Hot Toys lazily sold everyone a cheaper product.

I was hesistant to even sell it, as its a broken figure with the suit flaking.
I hired some workers to do some work at the house, and one of the guys brought his little son. Rather than sell someone a broken hot toys, I gave it to the little boy. Figured he would appreciate more.
He had a grin from ear to ear, to him it was the coolest toy. So it was worth it to see the kid happy.

I'm actually excited to get this more. From these two images alone. This will be my first bale batman so I'm not going to be complaining about inaccurate details just yet. Lol

I really love that shot and it kind of sold me... but isn't it heavily modified? I thought I read back it has a Jaxon cape and some body mods?

Looks good to me in those pictures. I have had it on preorder for a while and will be getting it.

Echoing what others have said, I think it looks nice but it still just isn't good enough for me to upgrade from my DX12. I've been collecting since the first "fatman" version came out years ago and it's like every time they do this they get a little closer but not quite there.

I'm not a stickler for it being 100 percent screen accurate as long as it gets mostly there. Too many little things with this one though (cowl, weird proportions especially the lower half of body, upscaled for some reason) that add up and make me want to pass on it.

I'm also just tired of modding stuff. I feel like with Batman figures specifically there's always something to change like the cape, boots, cowl, and so on
