Re: The Dark Knight Rises - 1/6th scale Batman Collectible Figure

He's going to release exactly as-is and people will still say they "fixed" him. :lol

Maybe but they made improvements to the 1/4 version and big improvements to the BvS Batman.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises - 1/6th scale Batman Collectible Figure

They probably want to sell to new collectors (like myself) who couldn't afford the figures before and couldn't afford the high aftermarket prices now. :p

Anyway, I'm happy to get this. :D

Or those that started collecting recently like myself :) I already purchased some older figures lately, Yondu or A1 Hulk for instance, and I am not rich to purchase much more older figures that are going for 2x retail. I am very happy this is happening :)

So, the specs are up.

Supposedly every head since the DX 02 has been sculpted by someone different, which I find it very hard to believe.

The latest one has FOUR people attached to it despite being identical to the QS 1/4 version . . .

How the **** does it take 4 people to sculpt a head? :lol How does that even work?

Re: The Dark Knight Rises - 1/6th scale Batman Collectible Figure

It's pretty easy to see where multiple artists can come in.

Cowl could be one sculptor, faceplates another, Bruce portrait a third.

It seems more common now to have multiple artists associated to sculpts. For example, two artists are credited with the Myers headsculpt for the ToTS '78 figure, no details on who contributed what. Sometimes artists are credited for supervising others as well.

$290? Christ

That price just buying the figure alone is a total bummer

But, pairing it with a bat pod for the price you might buy for a dx12 or whatever on eBay, is a pretty good deal.

For the cost, I would just recommend pairing the pod and figure.

People keep bringing up how they missed it and don't wanna pay aftermearket... but the aftermarket prices aren't even high. Many have sold for around $350 (some as low as $320, etc) shipped... which is what this one would cost after taxes and shipping from Sideshow.

I tried to find DX12 on eBay for $300 or less and couldn't, so this is a deal in my book. Even though this isn't a rubber figure like DX02 Batman was, there's still reason, I feel, to hesitate spending too much on eBay when you know nothing about where the figure was stored, etc. At least here, you're going through a reliable retailer who is getting it straight from the manufacturer.

When I was checking ebay, it was around $400+ after shipping and 10.25% tax (at least for active listings, I didn't check sold listings).

I can grab the new figure for $290 flat at Alter Ego.

Also, the re-release gives me hope they'll re-release Heath Joker as well so I can collect both. :p

Gives me time to recover from Avengers: Endgame purchases and preorders as well.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises - 1/6th scale Batman Collectible Figure

It's actually really laughable at how lazy they are. 8 years and all they did is shrink down the cowl/head from the 1/4 version. No improved suit, still the same inaccurate TDK gloves, shoulder pad is still the wrong one piece, stupid elbow piece that's stuck to the forearm gauntlet, terrible gap between the ab plating and the chest plate.

It also looks like they're not even using their improved Armory version of the suit? I don't understand their line of thought.

"We made a better suit with the Armory version, why don't we use that?"

"Nah let's use the older 2012 inferior version for our new 2020 figure."

:lol

I agree the dx12 was never truly commanding top dollar like say the Joker dx. I am personally looking to sell mine at $310 which i don’t think is bad considering it’s still sealed new in its shipper with free shipping and this was before the dx19 was even announced.

$290 plus shipping and tax is a bit much.

FWIW, Toy Dojo does not charge that (might depend if you are in their state) so I'll wait for them. **** SSC.

2022???

WOW!

For a Hot Toys figure like this, I wouldn't be comfortable spending more than $250 shipped on a used one. I don't know much about the materials the latest TDK figures suits are made of, but I wouldn't feel good risking a figure that may rot because I don't know the details of where and how it was kept, and eBay only covers you for so long.

There were a few auctions while I was looking that had best offers and no one went for the price I was willing to pay. Now I am able to get this version for the price I was comfortable with and with plenty of time to save for it, win win.

For CA residents, Alter Ego already has this and the Bat Pod up. Free shipping, no sales tax (10.25% in my location).

Yep. Sold are sold. Not like you can get in on those deals anymore.

Would've preferred lower than $290 but better that than ~$400 used after shipping and taxes.

BBTS has each (Bats and Batpod) for $299 and they want a $30 NRD on top of charging even more than SSC? (they charge tax now)

2020 sucks.

Only 200GBP to get one to the UK from the Hong Kong retailers(2nd batch). For a DX that feels like good value.

Even though I'm not getting it, this is kind of exciting in a nostalgic way. I hope Joker is next, although a long time went by between Two Face and Bats 3.0, so who knows when they'll show Joker. Hopefully a different artist gets a shot at Joker because Yulli has done one too many, imo. I hope they include a mixtured of accessories from the DX 1 and the DX 11. The bomb coat would be cool.

Joker will be a straight lazy re-release too. And it's all good considering how much 2.0 goes for.
