Chopper Face
Super Freak
Perhaps, as has been the case with Superman, InArt will enhance the paint job on late batches.Looks good overall in that review, but I’m not happy about the downgraded paint apps on the face.
Very bad practice.

Was thinking that as well. If InArt truly wants to overtake Hot Toys as the pinnacle of the hobby, they need to knock it off with stuff like this. There's always going to be some kind of drop from prototype to production and expecting an exact match is unreasonable, but all of the detail that Ron's face lost really sours my excitement on receiving this.Looks good overall in that review, but I’m not happy about the downgraded paint apps on the face.

Don't forget that Aragorn also had better paint on later batches as well, along with the better hairPerhaps, as has been the case with Superman, InArt will enhance the paint job on late batches.

Yea, if later batches are going to be improved, then those with earlier batches need to be able to get a replacement for the improved version. It's annoying to say the least, especially considering the price point.Ugh.
I already didn't order Legolas because I just don't trust them to drop $500 on a figure. If they start punishing their early buyers by improving flaws on later batches, I really might need to re-think how much I want to do business with these guys.
Hopefully that's not the case.
Agreed. I definitely expect a drop in production but not a massive one. It should be fairly close much like how Harry's was. The irony in my opinion was that when the prototype of JND was shown, everyone mentioned how dull and lacking in detail they are as far as the paintwork is concerned, yet here we are with the production piece for InArt and it's lost almost all its detailed paintwork that the proto had.Was thinking that as well. Agreed. I've come to terms with the fact that I will have to completely restyle the hair on their figures after having to do it with each one of my rooted InArt figures so far. But the other issues shouldn't be happening and it would be nice to just enjoy the figures right out of the box. I don't like to have to spend time with the figures to then warm up and be ok with them.As with all InArt releases, the tailoring and accessories here look phenomenal. This would be in the conversation for figure of the year if the paint application was stronger. Maybe it will be anyway. But between the Aragorn hair being a disaster for a handful of folks, blu tac/oversized heads on some Jokers, Harry/Gandalf wrist peg hell, The Batman forever delays - it's a shame that InArt can't get a release out without something to criticize.
Speaking of Newt, I wonder if InArt still plan on making him. I remember them mentioning interest in him.Anyway, I'm still really excited for Ron, he's still going to look incredible next to Harry (and near my Newt Scamander) on the shelf. Should be here early next week, can't wait to get Ron in and out of this never ending cold.
Which part of these paint apps do you consider downgraded enough to make you unhappy?Looks good overall in that review, but I’m not happy about the downgraded paint apps on the face.
eyebrows (lack there of), eyelids (dark circles-looks like he hasn't slept) and mouth.Which part of these paint apps do you consider downgraded enough to make you unhappy?

Considering this is a mass produced figure I think it looks good.eyebrows (lack there of), eyelids (dark circles-looks like he hasn't slept) and mouth.
He lost whatever "life" the proto paint apps gave him and took some of the likeness with it imo. I see it similar to when custom painters try their hand at the same headsculpt, but all come out looking different. Some capture the character and bring out the likeness in the sculpt and some don't, making it look totally different and not like the character/actor. To me, the production paint looses the likeness that the prototype had.
Yeah huge^Perfectly said. And it looks like some of the photos he lost the freckles too. Maybe it's just the lightning, maybe it's not, but if those don't translate to the production pieces, that's a huge downgrade.
I wouldn’t bother with these guys. They forget that these products are mass produced lol, and keep expecting these sculpts to be over textured like how HT does it. Just cause INART figs don’t really photograph well in most conditions, doesn’t mean they lack the detail. Ron’s freckles will be present but these guys cry wolf.Yeah huge
Of course it will have freckles, if Paul Atreids has them then I'm damn sure a child figure will
I have the Harry Potter figure, and I think it looks good now that I've fixed the hair. The paint apps on that figure didn't have the level of downgrade that this Ron seems to have. The paint apps on the final product of the Harry Potter figure look fairly close to the proto. That's what I'm comparing this Ron figure to. Not one by another company, but a similar product by the same company. As a whole package, it's really nice set, there's no denying that.Considering this is a mass produced figure I think it looks good.
No one ever got the figure completely the same or as good as the proto, never.
I don't even like the Harry Potter franchise and will never buy a figure from it but even I have to admit this looks pretty good.
