Though I love T1 and its horror film genetics,
I’m unsure if I’d add a T1 T-800 to the collection.

Perhaps if the 2.0 they inevitably make is a vast improvement over the original, I could possibly see myself purchasing.

I just think the two films are vastly different.
T2 is the more heartfelt story, and is a better representation of the Arnold character.

I love how Connor says as she’s observing him,
that out of anyone in her son's life,
the T-800 was the only one to measure up.
That’s the character to me, a father figure.

The entire scene where John is talking to him and realizing he’s ordered to do as he says, as he just stands there. It is the epitome of a parental figure, being there regardless of the naivety of the kid in the moment.

So ultimately I’m torn on which route to take here,
do I go -

  • T2 T-800 BD 2.0

  • T2 T-800 Clean 2.0 + T2 T-800 BD 2.0

  • T2 T-800 BD 2.0 + T2 T-1000 2.0
I don’t believe I’ll be ordering all three, just don’t feel the need to dedicate that amount of space to the film. Most likely, I’ll pick up two of the three. I’ve already PO the T-800 BD so that version is coming home.
I think the BD T2 next to my T1 figure will encapsulate the two films really well. It's a nice contrast. The killer & the protector.

This is an old photo from 5 or 6 years ago. The figure is currently in storage. I did clipperking's neck mod and it made a world of difference to the overall presence, but it also caused a slight crack in the back of the neck over time. And I have no idea how the jacket's holding up. It seemed to show some early signs of deterioration when last I checked.

After watching T2 last night, I think the BD will do fine as my sole representation of the film. Surprisingly, as much as I love what Robert Patrick brought to the character, I didn't feel a need to have a figure representation. I would say the portrayal itself is more iconic than the character if that makes sense.

If I'm to choose a 2nd, I'd go with the uncle Bob figure.

If it comes with an extra grey shirt and the machine gun, it'll be even more tempting to get.

That’s how I’m feeling about the T-1000
figure currently, a timeless portrayal,
though one I may prefer to only access on screen.

I still want to see more photos of everything,
I suppose seeing both up for PO will better help me decide. I’m hoping the clean version comes with the mini gun, don’t know why it wasn’t included with this BD version, but HT.

They should have had a second T-1000 on display in the different uniform with either the metal arms, donut head, split head, anything to help sell it. Don’t get me wrong the pose is perfect for that sculpt, but show off the other accessories on a second figure to better wow onlookers at a clean cut guy in a police uniform.

Although not my preferred display, I do really love how grisly the battle damaged sculpt looks on the T1. You really get a sense of the machine inside. The skeleton is deep sunken under the skin. You can even see its teeth..

I think some of that is lost with these recent sculpts (even in relation to the DX13). I hope they'll update the chrome paint at least.

A donut head would really help sell it, yeah

sorry, I'm not an expert but what model of hot toys is the photo of your T800 bd?😉

Will probably see a lot more of the Terminator figs at the upcoming New York comic con.

Both clean and battle damage are iconic.
The decision is really not easy...
I agree.

If it’s only to be one, rewatch the film and hover over your favorite scene; whatever condition he’s in,
go with that one.

For me though,

I don’t see myself buying a Sarah Connor 2.0, Reese, or any of Arnold’s looks from T1, so here I think I can justify both clean T2 T-800 & BD T2 T-800. Those two I’m pretty certain are coming home, still undecided about the T-1000, need to see more to be swayed.

2 favorite scenes: the duel at the galleria AND the final scene at the foundry...doctor, what should I do?😅
Haha well, are you getting the T-1000 2.0
to pair with one of the T-800 2.0?

If so, do you prefer him with the traditional police uniform or the bike cop uniform?

If you like the bike cop then you would need the
BD T-800, traditional cop uniform then Clean T-800.

If you plan to swap the uniforms or make a completely separate T-1000 with the parts, then obviously you’d go with both T-800 versions as well.

stop, my head hurts!!🤪😅

I'm going to make the "purists" scream but are we really obliged to make associations of figurines? 🤪

Because for me, at the beginning, the idea was to please myself by offering myself a single, slightly "luxurious" figurine, my very first HT, by choosing the one that really represents something in my heart... to which I will be able to associate emotions, the memory and the wonder of a child of having gone to see T2 at the cinema with my father when it came out in 1992 in Toulouse (south of France)... really THE figurine that means something if you see what I mean...
Well, after I say that but I know what it's like to be a collector and there's a good chance that the temptation to make associations will be really too strong... even if the budget is more than tight! 😅

I doubt HT will give us a proper
reflective surface on the areas of
exposed Endoskeletion like this -

So I’ll probably source the best
mirror liquid metal paint I can find.

It’s possible, and would bring it to life.

The tricky part is balancing a proper
realistic blood effect, light passing,
lots of thin spread streaks, around in crevices,
but also getting it to sit right
on a mirror surface.

Too bad actual metal parts in the
sculpt isn’t really something for the scale.

Wish the battle damaged left arm
incorporated die-cast at least like the
old EB 1:4.
