That's actually a drawing, and while it's VERY good it looks a bit off in terms of the likeness. More like a teenage girl dressed up as Edward.

This is more how I think of Depp as the character.

Quarter 1 2009. Magazine also says that this has been in development for over a year and is was completed through a collaboration of US/Hong Kong/Korean/Japanese artists. The hair and scissor hands were the hardest part to get right.

Retail is 1,080.00 HKD = 139.206 USD

If they think the hair was the hardest part to get right, they probably won't be changing it.

Depp was so good in this part. I just like this pic-

I'm SOOOOOOOO! dissapointed by the HAIR, what in Gods name is going on there ?, everything else is good, RESCULPT it for production HT, or I wont be buying it. And Edward Scissorhands Is one of my fave movies of all time.

The face is far too angular and heroic. They should have gone for a particular expression rather than a generic one, like they did with the Cannibal King Jack.

I just heard officially that they couldn't use Depps likeness for licencing reasons, this is an approximation to capture the look and feel of the character.
Looks pretty sweet to me, and considering this isn't 'officially' Depp, it dumps on my old Medi from a great height, but that figure is 5 years old now, and so very much has happened in 1/6 in those 5 years.

I knew it was a drawing, but that's not the point. It was to demonstrate the difference between what Hot Toys has done and what it should look more like. His face muscles are wide and come to more of a point, rather than the square shape they have given him. Not all that many pics about to choose from.

No likeness rights? Then I hope they don't bring it out for mass production. I want an Ed that looks like Ed. Why bother making a half Ed. They should hang out until they do get the rights and do it properly.

Actually on occasion we have seen a difference between prototype pics and finished results so if people want to, in your words 'whine', in hopes the manufacturer reads this then thats up to them.You never know with these things, it may be changed, it may not, but as customers we have every right to be complimentary or critical about an item if we are going to be spending money on it.

Personally I love Edward and will reserve judgement until I see official pics and specs of the piece.
Having said that, from the approximation pics, its gonna look awesome, high hair and all

I agree! It Looks great to me, it looks and feels like Edward Scissorhands 100%. I'm very glad HT is producing this. The hair looked a bit weird on the fist pics from the magazine but on these new promo pics it looks good in my opinion. I don't really understand the whining of some people.

I'm thrilled about the sculpt in those pics especially if it's true that HT wasn't able to use Depp's likeness.

Do you really think the hair looks bad in those new pics, i don't. HT should release this soon, it's good the way it is.

I think the main reason people think the hair is bad is because the first pic from the magazine didn't show any dimensions in the hair, just one big black thing but these new pics show to me atleast, that the hair is well done.
