Yeah, his hair does look different at times in the movie but the hair in that pic is just more iconic to me.

Interesting they have an likeness issue with the figure... I had the figure below and it was the same way. Clearly Edward Scissorhands, but not Depp. On the plus side this still has a passable likeness to Depp so I'm not put out. Now lets just hope we don't get a mustache version

Actually on occasion we have seen a difference between prototype pics and finished results so if people want to, in your words 'whine', in hopes the manufacturer reads this then thats up to them.You never know with these things, it may be changed, it may not, but as customers we have every right to be complimentary or critical about an item if we are going to be spending money on it.

Personally I love Edward and will reserve judgement until I see official pics and specs of the piece.
Having said that, from the approximation pics, its gonna look awesome, high hair and all

HT doesn't really change much, especially recently. The only major exception being the added 'stache to Kane. And in all honesty in that case we never saw the full original Kane sculpt so it doesn't 100% count.

Well, it looks like they did a lot of work on the TDK Bats between initial proto pics and production, but on the whole I know what you mean.

They changed the newly released Batman figure quite a lot based on comments from collectors. I'd say it's still worth it to make constructive suggestions.

Yes they did and 4 months after preordering it I still haven't recieved the damn thing! HT's is the best, no doubt but they're starting to pick my ass with release dates as of late!

However after seeing these high res pics, its still worth picking up, it does look good enough imo. It does look like Depp at some angles and not at others.

Will they make changes? Probably, it seems to be the norm with HT's as of late, kind of annoying though. Change = 1-2 extra months to wait.

If whining means a late release date, i'm gonna hate whiners.

All the things i want take forever already: jun planning gremlin statues (waiting about 2 years now), HT Predator 1 line. I don't want Ed to take that long to be released. Release it HT, it's good enough.

The hair does appear a bit too high in the first few pics, but still a great looking figure overall. I love the licenses that both HT and Enterbay have been pursuing. It seems like there is always something cool around the corner these days.

Me too! I want a Johnny Depp Edward Scissors Hands, not someone cosplaying Edward Scissors Hands. But since its a license issue, we can't really ao anything about that.

But I would wish the paint job would be more like how it was in the movie, especially the black lipstick part.

Edward doesn't have black lipstick, the HT paintjob is actually correct. On that movie promo pic earlier in the thread it seems he has black lips but in the movie he hasn't. Just slighty darker lips like on the HT fig.

Again, HT did a great job on this figure.

I always thought Ed looked like he could be a cenobite (hellraiser). He wouldn't be to out of place next to pinhead, only visually ofcourse, Ed is very good natured.

i kinda doubt an Asian company reads American message boards for critiques of their products. or ANY message boards for that matter.
i seriously doubt even Sideshow takes this place into consideration enough to actually delay any release.

that said, this does not look like Depp. it doesn't. anyone who thinks it does needs to watch the movie.
for the price we're expected to pay for Hot Toys figures, their sculpts should look more like the actors than the actual actors.
why should i pay the premium price for Hot Toys when McFarlane did a far better sculpt for 1/10th the price?
