Hot Toys Elite Praetorian Guards

I think there’s a lot of potential for some good action scenes with these Guards, considering who they could fight. Luke, Rey, and even Kylo. Plus the variety of weapons they have.

I do like their weapons more than the Royal Gaurds' pointer/baton things.

I think you're spot on.

I feel like we'll get a fight between them vs Rey / Luke / newly turned good guy Kylo in the throne room as Snoke takes off after Kylos betrayal.

They look very similar yet different -- Sideshow lists a more rounded mask as Praetorian Guard while the Elite Guard is the "Buzzer" look.


Look close, I don't think they are the same despite the angle.

I think that fourth one you're referring to is actually the "Arrowhead Guard" Hoody99 mentioned but he instead posted a second image of the "Toenail Guard" instead. I had a really good look at the Arrowhead design today at walmart on a Jakks Big Fig and I like that one quite a bit, it's best to look at it from the side. This is that third one from Figurats that gives you a good idea of what that helmet design looks like:

Personally I prefer the Force Pikes, they seem more Sci-Fi than the bladed weapons of the Praetorians.

I know what you mean but half of the ROTJ pole weapons had blades - skiff guards, Gammy Guards - so the "vibro blade" (to me that term always sounded like one of those electric meat cutter knives popular in the 1980s) kinda works for SW for me.

I also never understood how the Force could actually play into a spear used by seemingly non-Jedi guards (like are they wielding the Force using them somehow - but I guess they ARE guarding the Emperor?)

I'd really to see them in action...Phasma in action... those were the main bad guys I was expecting to see in TFA. Everyone already knows there will be a main villain/hero showdown.
Hopefully something in this next installment. Praetorian Guards included.
I'm going into this one with low hopes as to not get too let down.

I'm guessing it's a tight secret. But in the BTS trailer, Daisy was fighting 3 people with melee weapons.. Could be Knights or Guards. Maybe the answer is obvious and the Guards are the Knights. It came out last week that the Guards are human. And Kylo is seen posing with them as their supposed leader. We could be getting a brief flashback showing their origins and the transition to Guards. Would be cool and would make me actually want a couple of Guards.

It could also explain why the Guards have different weapons and helmets, just like the Knights of Ren.

I really hope they are not the Knights of Ren. I like their badass individual looks in the Concept Art far better.

I agree, the concept art of them was so badass. I remember thinking it would be hard to resist a display of all of them if HT ever got to them. But I'm hoping the Knights get some screen time. I'm not sure how much time will be there for them if they aren't also the Guards. Perhaps they don't don the red armor until the latter half. Supposedly Kylo and the Knights launch an assault on Ach-To, so we could see their original outfits. Gees I'm sick of waiting for this movie.

I see what you mean, Snoke wouldn't have that rough looking gang around him in the clothes and masks they had.

But I still really hope this theory is wrong !!
