Wow, that's a great looking First Blood Rambo! I hope to get him when he comes out! Great likeness to Stallone, and one of the best I've seen in the 1/6 scale format. :D

I never really liked the faces on the earlier ones... the Rambo 3 figure had the likeness spot on, but it was always the first blood version.... THIS First Blood version from the beginning of the film that I wanted. Damn. (and when I first saw this pic.... I heard Jerry Goldsmith's theme in my head.... that's why it has to be this version.

Can I ask you guys a question though?

How the hell do you all afford these Hot Toys figures. The SS ones are expensive enough for me.... but I pick and choose and manage to get the ones I really want. But Hot Toys? It's like £35 for a SS, and £70 or £80 for a HT here.

It's silly money... and it's killing me cause they're doing sooo manyyyyy that I want and I don't have any of the buggers (Rambo, Robocop, ED-209, Aliens, Marines, Pirates.....) :monkey2

Hi Darren. Well, I scrape along and get the Sideshow and Hot Toys figures when I can. I have a very understanding wife that allows me so much of each paycheck to "play with". But I am still on a tight budget. Recently I've worked out trades and deals with other great board members here to get the Hot Toys marines and other figures I want. But it still isn't easy being on a budget with SO many great figures coming out for stuff I'm interested in like: ALIENS, Rocky, Rambo, Robocop, Predator, Star Wars, LOTR...the list goes on and on. So I get the ones I can get...when I can get them. It's tough, but I do what I can.

it's more the difference in price between the SS ones (which I thought were 'high end' enough) ... and the Hot Toys ones (which took the phrase 'high end; to a new meaning!)

I never thought 12" figures would be selling for between £50 and £100.... ($100 and $200.... put it that way)

The Goldsmith Theme--and that long shot of him walking down the road! I thought the same thing! And I agree about the head sculpts--they've improved with EVERY SINGLE SCULPT, which really shows evolution. I'm excited for what they're droppin' at SDCC!

As far as affording a $100+ figure, I look at it as a trade off. I've been buying figures as "collectibles" for 15 years. I used to buy every McFarlane set, new Star Wars figure, and Toy Biz Marvel figure on the shelves. Not to mention all the older GI Joes, Thundercats, and Bronze Bombers I used buy. Nowadays, I buy one or two $100+ figures online a month and that's it. Besides Justice League, I don't really collect other lines anymore. Marvel Legends is dead to me and I'm really just burnt out on that NECA/Movie Maniac scale. Most of that McFarlane stuff I had was worthless when I went to sell it, but 1/6 figures are a more solid investment, which makes the collecting more fufilling, so you worry less about the money spent. If you can't afford it, you can always sell it back.

Yeah, guys, I agree that the great Jerry Goldsmith scores for Rambo movies really helped them make such a big impression on me. I even bought the Rambo II soundtrack on record in the summer of 1985 when it came out! I still have it to this day too. I loved Goldsmith's score for the second Rambo too. I'm sad to hear that Jerry won't do the Rambo 4 score, since he passed away a few years ago. Hopefully whoever does the score will do something of a homage to his previous Rambo scores.

I'm a big fan of great movie music composers like: John Williams, James Horner, Danny Elfman, and Jerry Goldsmith. :D
