Great cartoon buddy. It pretty much sums up everything.

I don't have time to read through all these pages, so maybe someone can answer this for me. Wasn't one of the complaints about the SS POTA line that the figures were being released to close to each other? Now Hot Toys starts their line with three releases at the same time? These really look nice, but if the humans don't come with seamless silicone skin the apes are going to make the humans look really weak. I think I'll stick to the SS apes line for now, but I'm curious to see how far HT will go with this in number of characters and quality.

I hope Hot Toys only releases one figure at a time from now on for the apes line so I could afford it. If they knock their next figure out of the park like Ursus, I will have to pull the trigger and buy it too...but it will have to seriously rock my boat first.

What does it mean, when "it's an exclusive outside of Asia?"

I think frontloading is a great idea to start a line off. 3 at once is not bad considering the layover for these to begin with.

Once the line is out, then they should be slow. Starting with just 1risks never getting the line any momentum.

Yes, one of the early complaints was that there were too many, nine i believe, figures being released all too close and too quickly. A great number of them were variants of the same character. Hot Toys detailing put everyone else's attempts in the dust. The SS ones were great, and I have plenty of them, but these are waaaaay outta the park. And, while I think that the gorilla soldier and the captain share the same sculpt, they are not necessarily the same character. And, if the humans come in their ANSA uniforms, they won't need silicon bodies. If they come in their post landing rags, we know HT can deliver the proper body. My concern at that point is if HT uses the "muscle" type body will that push the humans to be more expensive than the apes? And, what will that, in turn, do to the line?
For now, just send me the gorillas!!

That means that HT can sell it to any of their usual dealers in Japan, HK, China, Korea, etc. But anyone outside of those areas has to get it from Sideshow. It also means that none of the people that HT sells it to in Asia can legally sell it to anyone outside their territory.

My frear also is that HT will overkill the line like Sideshow did with the release of quite alot of figures all at one time. It is possible that they did it this time just to get the line moving, which is fine all long as they don't continue to release 3 at a time. Didn't HT release many of the Rocky and Rambo figures all at one time?

I recall Rambo and Trautman coming out together, I'm not sure about the Rocky ones, although, to a certain extent, that would have made some sense. I think that their releasing three figures for the POTA line, all gorillas at that, gives the line a great deal of hope. I can't imagine anyone would take over the license and not at least produce one chimp, orangutan and human.

Well, that does make sense and I hope you are right. That sure would keep my wallet from burning. I hope they do Virdon and Burke. I loved my Mego Virdon and Burke as a kid and my Ape line will be empty without a HT Virdon and Burke. I pre-ordered mine directly from ABC-Express. Has any one had any dealings with them?

Ah ha! That means I have a good chance of getting one. Thanks for the information!

You're right on Rambo. The Rocky line started out with 3 figs, Rocky IV and Clubber and within a couple of weeks HT announced a Clubber Street exclusive fig. I like 3 figs at once because your going to have a long wait before their shipped.

ABC-Express is excellent. If theres a delay they well email you. They usually put up figs for pre- order before anyone else, but be aware that the release date of the figs in their Ebay auctions is just and estimate. Your probably looking at three to four months if you pay right away. That's what happened to me in the past. Once they get them in stock they ship right away and for USA you'll have them in about five business days.
