Dude, I've sent them countless mails and reference pics of the Giger alien over the years, and so far they've so far ignored them successfully...

HT does have a good track record with their human figures, but historically, they've given Alien fans reason to be pessimistic about this figure.

I know, I know......but we have only seen like 3 pics! Let's give HT the benefit of the doubt and reserve judgment for the official pics.....yes?

I mean hell, if they can re-sculpt Marcus-frigging-Wright they should be able to resculpt the goddamned head on Giger's alien!

I'm sick and tired of HT short-changing us Alien fans.

BTW, to me it looks like the hand is right, it does have the six fingers.

Wow! They only show it like a day or two ago, and you expect them to fix it immediately? Besides, HT aren't 'quick-fixers', after how many weeks did they release the pics of the new Marcus sculpt?

As I said, I'm very optimistic the Alien that we see now, will not be the one we end up with.

Pretty sure that's the claw on the 5th finger, the outter fingers are a little shorter than the middle 2, and at least on the ALIENS, the one was shorter, that tip you're referring to is right lined up with the other middle fingers.

Unless the official pics show up a month or later from now where things can be tweaked, it's likely what we see is what's being made.

The paint/color I say wait for official pics cuz all the show pics haven't been great representations of those aspects on any figure, but things like recycled hands from the ALIENS figure and the skull in the dome aren't because of lighting.

If HT listens to feedback and actually changes this figure, great, but again, historically the Alien figures have been treated with less love and care than any HT item, here they've sculpted a body pretty close to exact of the Giger design, yet the ALIENS figure, which should have the same basic body, isn't even close.

I'm still getting this figure because it blends better with my HT collection for the money than the Medicom and looks better made, but given the effort put into the Predator of all Predators, it doesn't seem like the same love was put into the Alien of all Aliens.

Yeah, but to Abake's point, if you have reference material sent right to you and don't utilize it, why would they use a photo manip of their figure, they could have just done it right based on the reference material in the first place.

Like with Two-Face for example, I didn't think they even had reference on the burn side when they made that, so I got Wookster to pass it along in hopes to improve, but plenty of stuff is out there to work from for ALIEN, hell you could pick up the NECA figure and break it down and use that, but if they didn't get certain details right with all the reference out there, good chance it's because they didn't want to.

Because. Maybe they find it petty that people want things like the shoulders to be higher, or the ribs to be whatever. Maybe they find it daunting to add all those details. But if you showed them something they could easily see (the head). I dunno.

I suppose anything's worth a shot, but I just don't get a vibe from them like they care, or that they feel this need to take artistic license with the ALIENS.

Well....everything looks like Giger's Alien except the damn head. If they dont fix this, then I will call this figure a stinky ass turd. Kinda like how I feel with the Wolf. His body looks fine, so does his armor, and mask...but my god his face is horrid.

As long as they make it more blacker and at least 85% spot on accurate i would be happy.

Well, if the hands end up just being recycled of the ALIENS figure, that'd be wrong too.

Yes, 80% of the figure is pretty true to Giger's look, I think that's probably cause for frustration with the rest, if they'd been totally off with things like ALIENS, people would be sad they didn't get an HT Giger Alien, but I think they'd be less bothered not getting it than getting it half assed.

So far I dont like it. The front of the head and mouth are very wrong,
but its still early days and I'm quite sure HT will sort these's probs out
and if they dont I wont be buying it.

Neca owns these hot toys guys for sculpting aliens. im glad i got my 18 giger alien when i did. more people are going to realize its the best/ most accurate alien out there. and more rubber!? rubber blows big time, especially on the aliens they just rip left right and center. im just waiting for a better giger alien statue, hot toys fails this one.

One thing I actually liked about the Aliens warrior was the mouth but they've just gotten it wrong ever since. The worst was the dog alien but I don't think there was as much fuss over that.

And it is sad because the mouth is key. The alien has no eyes to focus on, all attention in the films is on the mouth. Get that wrong and you've got the Alien wrong.

I agree Jnmx2000. I hope this is the prototype. And if HT does have a blog I assume all of us will inform them of the poor repensentation of the alien's mouth.

Like you said CelticP the mouth/lips/teeth-fangs is the most famous part of Giger's creation. I think the dome looks good. Really can't stand the the"alien-design" skull.

C'mon HT maybe you should have in print: "product shown is not final. We will fix the mouth."
