Best of the best depends really on whether you prefer the original ANH beat up Vader, or the nice and pretty shiny Vader, in which you could chose between the RO or upcoming ESB. If you want shiny, I'd wait for ESB or the eventual ROTJ version. If you prefer original ANH beat up Vader, then as you've read, opinions are all over the place.

I still prefer the original ANH Vader out of the box over this new 2pk Tarkin ANH Vader. The only issue with the original were the way they did the hands. Which you can currently be able to pick up a few parted out hands. This new 2pk one to me has more inaccuracies than the original. If you wan't the best ANH Vader and have the funds, I'd buy both, swap out what you like/don't like, then sell off all the rest of what you don't use.

The interrogation droid is a nice accessory, but not essential. The only issue is the terrible plastic stand...

I might be the only one who actually like the original pleather gloves. some double sided tape could be used to make them stick better to the hands.... I just almost always prefer fabrics to molded parts.

If the 'ribs' on the gloves were more raised, I might agree with that because, you're right, real material trumps plastic... but from across the room those gloves look too flat and closer to the ESB style gloves.

I was planning to go thru the trouble some did here (matrix and wastetimecontinuum) by lining the ribs to raise them, but then the RO gloves appeared and getting them was just much easier. And from across the room they look great. Still wish they were real though. :)

Real fabric is nice but the transition from fabric to the plastic shiny hands was jarring on the ANH one. Was improved by those who added some dull cote.

The Interrogator Droid is quite nice, the problem lays with its crappy cheapo base. As for Vader, it is a combo of ANH and RO. Is it the best? That is debatable. But it is good indeed

The problem with the droid is that it's undersized. The onscreen prop was made of two R2 domes joined together, so the HT piece should be about 50% bigger.

From what I understand this Vader is the best of the best. It has the anh parts that were best by the rogue one offering for a perfect combo minus the electronics unless that’s important to you.

The droid isn’t cheap it’s quite beautiful but I will admit the extensions fall off constantly.

You can’t not have Darth Vader. Consider yourself lucky for the opportunity of not having one to get the two pack unlike the rest of us who annoyingly had to get the parts separate to swap or even worse like I did ages ago the rogue one figure which I’m still selling off loose parts on eBay.

Best of the best is relative though - I still prefer the Kaiyodo Vader facemask to the HT sculpt. The HT Vader mask looks nice under harsher lighting but under flatter lighting and facing straight at camera you can still see remnants of the wonky HT prototype's insect-face look (most of which they fixed right before release.) The HT Vader masks are also slightly oversized, which I guess works with the too-tall aspect of all the HT Vaders.

God damn it I knew my love affair with Tarkin was too good to be true. I realized this afternoon they totally overlooked his bald spot. That’s a big miss to me it can’t rven be fixed with a repaint.

Oh no.... :slap

Order placed for Tarkin. Yeah, I know. I'm late to the festivities... :wink1:

Good man, you're in for a treat.

I never noticed the lack of a bald spot myself. Probably because I have him displayed from the front. Personally, I never paid attention to it in the film, either.

Yes Tarkin scuplt is just superb, captures the likeness of Peter Cushing perfectly from every angles. Despite there are still minor issues like oversized hands, incorrect hair color, hes kinda small...

Compare to recent released HOTH Leia which I see nothing like Fisher, just a souless doll to me..scuplt quality different as night and day.

I think this holds true for most HT female offerings...the blank stare; a slight look of determination would do wonders. I mean if you're gonna give her a gun, give her the face to use it.

Man,......will there be another Doc down the road? Still caught in the middle between this set and BTTF2 Marty and Doc.

I already have Bespin Luke, Master Rep Luke Blaster, and a Boba Fett to Rep Star Wars. Have nothing for BTTF.

A few months ago, probably this set hands down,....but what Disney did with Last Jedi and the fact they get my money causes conflict within.

I know, but no one so far made a proper sized Interrogator Droid. The 1/4 PF version goes perfectly with Attakus 1/5 though. I wanted to display the PF Interrogator Droid with the Attakus Stormtrooper, but the Iron Studios Vader arrived and had to change the overall display there, so droid went back next to ANH Vader PF

Yeah a proper sized interrogator and mouse droids would be nice. Not a biggie for the interrogator cause his in the background. Otherwise the mouse Droid is teenie tiny at troopers feet :(

Like Wor-Gar stated earlier, I'd go with Tarkin right now. He's a one and done, while Doc still has another chance being that they can still do his BttF Part 1 radiation suit look.

Tarkin is a great figure indeed! The bald spot overlook holds it back from a perfect score. I also lengthened his legs with longer pegs

What height was Cushing? Is Tarkin supposed to be like Veers where he's over 6' tall? It didn't occur to me Tarkin might need extra height but all the HT Vaders are a little too tall so maybe just that alone is reason to do it.
