Amazing pics in this thread! Decided to get just Groot. Sideshow said only 10 left but who knows. I still just placed my order. He'll look great and is the best of the bunch in my opinion.

People don't seem to like the Rocket figure. Drax still hasn't been revealed yet, Gamora has the articulation problems due to the rubber arms, this set might be on low quantity, is it worth it to get or is it better off to wait, maybe double rewards and free shipping will be applied? Or is it safer to get this, and try to sell a Rocket for cheap?

There is nothing wrong with the Rocket figure, apart from being over priced.

Usually, rule of thumb. If something comes in low quantity, the potential for them re-releasing in the future is low.

Therefore, future price will be high. Not saying your a scalper, but if your a true fan and want to have this in your collection, then I'd suggest to get it now then overpay for it in the future.

Example: Blade and Dark Knight Two-Face. No one wanted it at the time, and now the price for them are pretty high up there. Low quantity = higher price.

Although the buying culture is different around the World, in comparisons to Hong Kong (where I live). We don't get 50% discounted warehouse items from Sideshow.

Groot is amazing!
The detail on him is really impressive. His eyes are beautifully painted. The extra face looks pretty great in hand.

Rocket is cool. It's just that he is small, costume not quite as sharp as I hoped, but they look brilliant together. Rocket can attach to groots stand to pose on shoulder. Gun is fantastically detailed.

Overall a good 8 out of 10

I look at all of those things you listed and in truth, don't see them being all that big of a deal.

Drax will be released, Gamora is not that bad, especially if you can manage not giving her an overly exaggerated pose, we already heard Groot looks incredible and that Rocket is not quite as bad as some feared (not me, I never worry). Best thing to do is think of it this way...Do you love the movie and the characters so much that it would make you happy to see the set in your home? If so, then I say just go for it now while the prices are manageable. If you're honestly debating, then probably not worth it to spend the money.

I couldn't agree more with you Buffy. I initially had no intention of getting the team due to funds. But after watching the movie a few times, and my kids absolutely loving the movie and bugging me to get the figures, I decided to move forward because I found I loved the characters too.

I sold a few things to make up the money and cannot wait for the team to be together. Drax will come. I'm not worried about that. They will look great together on the shelf.

I'm happy for you guys who are getting the whole team. As much as the movie is awesome and I love it a bunch. I can't afford to get all of them and the only one that is up to par for me is Groot. I think Rocket's alright, Gamora looks awesome but has the arm issues and Star Lord is cool but do think the Chris Pratt head sculpt could be better. Drax hopefully will look pretty good also.

Nope, not a scalper, no worries. I mentioned a few times in this thread that I won a Rocket figure but I want to get the set because I like to have the extra Groot head and potted Groot, so I will eventually have an extra Rocket to give to a friend or sell.

I hear ya. If you've seen some of my pics in the Captain America threads, I love those extreme action poses, so it was tough hearing that the Gamora elbows can't bend far at all. I had an idea for some great action poses for each figure but hers would end up left in a standing one but it's something I will have to factor in I guess. Was debating whether or not to wait several years for GotG2 but yeah, that'd be a while. I decided if I were to get the AoU line, I'd display them in a double BESTA with the GotG group to save space.

Thanks, Rory. Good to know finally how Rocket poses over Groot's shoulder. I kept looking for foot and hand-holds on Groot's back and couldn't figure out how Rocket attached. Looking forward more than ever to this set.
