Re: Hot Toys Screaming Tree Guy and Rodent.

What if this movie ends up being a stinker?

It'd be interesting to see a whole Hot Toys line backfire after they put time into developing and marketing it.
Geeks love to ridicule Iron Man 2 and 3, and the AVP movies blew, but those films are probably responsible for more Hot Toys sales than any other movies, all things considered.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS 253 - Guardians of the Galaxy - Groot

I am really in awe of the paint job and sculpt work on this one. No degradable soft plastic, though, please!

Re: Hot Toys - MMS 253 - Guardians of the Galaxy - Groot

This is way to cool! Planing on putting it in my garden next to my peppers.

Re: Hot Toys Screaming Tree Guy and Rodent.

Yeah, that true.

Speaking of Hot Toys Spider-Man, I bet ASM 2 Spider-Man and Electro are poor sellers, especially with all these other Marvel releases. Rhino probably won't see the light of day.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS 252 - Guardians of the Galaxy - Rocket

It's great they came with there individual looks. Will make them stand out more.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS 252 - Guardians of the Galaxy - Rocket

Looks great but two head sculpts and three uniforms is a no brainer when it comes to 16cm figure priced at $140.

You can see the sculptor has a neutral expression sculpt of rocket in his hands.
I bet there's another version in a different suit.
Yeah, most likely they will release same figures in team uniform if the movie is a hit.
Disney, oh Disney...

found the retail prices for my market:
Groot: 195 EUR
Rocket: 145 EUR
Whoa! Poor Europe...

I find it odd that most of the Rocket Racoon Merchandise displays him in his orange suit while (I think) most of us want to have the team in their Red/ Bordeaux Guardian outfits.
You think that "most of us". Feel free to feel dumb :lol

The hell with rhino. We need more iron man

Re: Hot Toys Screaming Tree Guy and Rodent.

Let' see.

Make figures from on a movie that no one cares about anymore or cash in on the newest Marvel hype machine? Yeah, I don't know what Hot Toys is thinking!

I noticed this as well. Because what's odd is that they made the 2 pack come with a second screaming Groot sculpt but they didn't give one to Rocket when he has a screaming sculpt as well based off the movie and promos. The teaser also shows that they have the prisoner outfit in the works.

With Rocket being a cheaper figure than the rest, I bet they'll squeeze out another version to cash out on him.

That's because geeks like the characters. No one cares about the movie versions of Doc Oc or Juggernaut. Well, no one but Evilface. :)

Re: Hot Toys - MMS 252 - Guardians of the Galaxy - Rocket

450$ for both is not bad. There both sculpted from head to toe. 2 headsculpts for groot plus accesories and new stands. That's a very good price imo.

Re: Hot Toys Screaming Tree Guy and Rodent.

I care about Doc Ock.

He was a great villain character from a great movie. A 1/6 figure would be one of the most interesting collectibles to date with those tentacles.

Re: Hot Toys Screaming Tree Guy and Rodent.

Gosh, are we making whole threads about how much we don't want something now? If so, I'm going to make another thread for every 1/6 figure I have no interest in.

;)

Re: Hot Toys Screaming Tree Guy and Rodent.

I don't think HT held the rights to Spider-Man 2.

And Since Karamozov already drew this comparison lets all sing!
