Take out the ****e editing (how does Barricade vs Bumblebee switch day to night?) and what seems to be some key scenes missing (err, Barricade's fate please), and the first movie was a pretty satisfactory live actor, new era reboot.... but the only thing watchable in the sequels are the Optimas vs scenes, and the Bumblebee vs scenes..
I didn't have a problem with the lack of personality of the deceps in the first one, because they were awesome battle machines who one vs one outclassed all the autobots except Optimas.... but making them pretty much all clones in all the sequels, (and what's worse, man made drones in the 4th) made them totally non appealing... it's like watching 80s Hulk Hogan vs the jobbers that all the guys like The Rockers and The Red Rooster used to squash mid week.. (if by some rare change Hogan ever wrestled on anything other than a PPV in the main event)

Ok, I don't want to date myself, or sound like a broken record, but why couldn't they have put a little more 80's transformers into the mix? I get he wanted to make something new - something for a new generation but who does he think pays the ticket prices? Dad's (and Mom's) wanted to share that old transformer magic but got Hollywood explosions and fluff instead. Regardless, they aren't horrible but I was hoping for some more G1 DNA in the mix (though Optimus is pretty good).

I'm starting to question wether to wait for the next batch of Guardians? I think Groot looks cool, but Ratchet could be better, and there's a chance he'll be better next time.

Haha. Rachet is awesome. I don't know where my head is at the moment. I make mistakes like this all the time. Yeah, but Ratchet is awesome. My son has the set with him and Clank.

I'm not that much into them, Groot and Rocket, but I think my youngest son would be kinda disappointed if I didn't get them. I bought a the City Predator just because of him. Man, I would be father of the year if Hot Toys made an Alien.
