I wonder if it’d be worth getting a cheap, 3rd party racing suit for armor assembly if in fact it will get damaged. I’ve seen them before. Might have to hunt one down.

Here’s a great visual overview of how it all works, plus some fresh posing ideas. Sure pairs nicely with that exclusive Mark V racetrack diorama base 😯

This guy is my new go to for HT video reviews. He understands it’s not about hands waving about and shoving your own personality into it, it’s about the figure and visually the videos are beautifully shot and presented.

Iron Man 2 is kinda special for me and I really like the Monaco scenes, the racing suit, and the Mk V.

This is an interesting piece that can look very cool but is also just... odd, I guess.

This has got to be the most elaborate, intricate, over-engineered, and complex way Hot Toys has ever devised to have collectors damage one of their own figures.

Lol. Well, many of their figures come dressed in costumes that will be damaged/dented by the included dynamic stands. I don’t think this is so different.

While that’s true, you can choose to not use the dynamic stand or replace the support (which shouldn’t be necessary).

You can also choose to not use the Mk V armor up pieces but then what’s the point of half this set and its price premium over just a racing suit Tony. :lol

I have to agree.
I have pre-ordered it but not sure how I will display it now. I don't want to damage the racing suit with the armour. At the same time it is a lot of money for a racing suit figure. I will probably display it with the open 💼 as a compromise.

Not that they ever would have, but I kind of wish they had done a bare-bones Racing Suit Tony
that you could purchase and then this DX set if you wanted that... because I just want Tony in the Black & Blue Suit.

A racing suit Tony with just the briefcase would've been great.

Was wondering, does the Tony headsculpt for this suit up version fit over the diecast Mark V? Would be a headsculpt upgrade to do so if the pegs fit!

To answer your question, yes the headsculpt does fit onto Mark 5. This pic single-handedly made me buy a Mark V from Popcultcha. This is how I intend to display it. Can't wait!

Thanks for this! I'm definitely displaying it this way!!!

My non-deluxe version charged today from Sideshow. I'm quite excited as I've not gotten a new figure since my IW Bucky. Now we'll see how long it takes for SSC to actually ship it out. :lol

Mine too. What is curious for me is that, shipping box size looks exactly the same as deluxe one. I was expecting it to be smaller due to having less.

The standard version of this without the transforming suitcase is in stock at Sideshow now for anyone who doesn’t intend to ever display Tony interacting with the suitcase.

I ordered the HC toys KO one back when this first went up for order just for this purpose. I will need to test to see if it all fits when I finally receive the HT
