Re: Hot Toys - Iron Man 3 - Mark XXXIX / Gemini

Exactly how I feel!

Don't get me wrong, I want to have a lot of time to spread out all my pre-order payments. I just want to get the order in so I can stop trolling my email for that announcement.

Re: Hot Toys - Iron Man 3 - Mark XXXIX / Gemini

This is the final Iron Man suit is going to release from Iron Man 3 correct?

Highly unlikely, this line sells like hot cakes. They would be stupid to stop. I hope they make all 42 suits personally, would be an amazing collection when its all said and done. Of course that would be another five to ten years to finish. That's fine since I couldn't afford to get them if they all came out at once. We shall see...

Actually there might be a shogun, don't remember exactly where I read it but don't be surprised to see it. And either way I highly doubt this is the last release, HT is milking this train and I don't think there done yet.

Nope, not by a longshot, and since most suits in iron man 3 are repaints with mix-n-match'd parts hot toys problably won't. Honestly I don't mind since I like iron man and all his suits, and like TheChozoWarrior said it'll make a helluva display, all we need now is 1/6 wine cellar.

Re: Hot Toys - Iron Man 3 - Mark XXXIX / Gemini

I would also guess they will make many more suits from IM3. Maybe exclusives, promos, whatever. There are many armors that are just repaints of what have already been made.

Especially since there is no talk of an IM4

Re: Hot Toys - Iron Man 3 - Mark XXXIX / Gemini

HT can keep this line going for a long time.

With the announcement of the Iron Whiplash from IM2 I'm hoping they go back and do all 4 Hammer Drones :D

If Play Imaginative actually puts out all 42 suits, I'm sure Hot Toys will be fast to jump on the best sellers of that line. A nice way for Hot Toys to test the waters for free.:rotfl

Good point and yeah I definatly see them doing those 4 here in the near future.

Hmmm.. I suspect it may be the other way round.. the reason for 'all prototype hype, no figure releases' so far from PI, might be because they have been keeping tabs on HT's choice of figures to release (and sales indicators).. then use that as a benchmark for their own figure schedule.. might explain all the delays....

I'm sure there is some truth to that too.

Re: Hot Toys - Iron Man 3 - Mark XXXIX / Gemini

Both companys could just put polls online to see what suits customers want most. I know a few manufactures that do this already.

To be honest, that's kind of hit and miss as well. I would imagine most people who would say they want a particular armour wouldn't necessarily buy it at the price Hot Toys demands and could skew the results. I think pretty much the suits that most people want are the ones Hot Toys are already doing with the exception of Shotgun and Nightclub, but I would expect to see teasers for those two sometime in the next couple of months anyway.
The rest of the armours are either straight repaints or mix and matches that really aren't going to be anything more than niche armours for the completest or people who happen to be fans of that particular design. After the sort of primary armours are done, I would imagine the other armours coming out more to suit Hot Toys' needs (ie. R&D or ease) as opposed to just fan interest. Midas is a great example of this. I don't think I read about a whole lot of people clamoring for Midas, but being just a gold version of the Mark VII, it was a simple repaint for them to get a special edition out. I imagine a lot of the armours will be released in a similar fashion.

Re: Hot Toys - Iron Man 3 - Mark XXXIX / Gemini

*cough* Release Hammerhead! *cough*

Re: Hot Toys - Iron Man 3 - Mark XXXIX / Gemini

I think they will eventually release Hammerhead as well. I believe once they have done Shotgun and Hammerhead, they would have all the parts to do the rest of the armours with minimal to no new tooling. I think that is why Heartbreaker ended up plastic instead of the diecast it was originally announced as, gives them more opportunity to reuse the molds for other armours. Honestly, as long as Iron Man keeps selling, I truly believe seeing all 42 armours is a legitimate possibility.

There is at least a couple more that have unique designs, sneaky and bones for instance. I hope they make them all as well. That's another five-ten years down the road before they would finish.

I just want to preorder my NASA stark already. I'll worried about the others when they are announced.
