Does it really matter where both names came from? Both names are correct. Both names are official. From the makers of the product.
I only said what I said earlier to correct someone saying it "has one" name. It's been called both names by marvel or thru marvel. Both are correct. Yes for toy purposes Gemini has a copyright issue. There are diecast Gemini space craft available from hot wheels and a dozen other companies. It may not have required a license fee or other trademark issues but I'm sure it also wasn't worth the risk of trying. Safer and easier to go with starboost. Does not change the fact that the suit has been called both things from its maker/owner. Think of it as a birth name and a nickname. Both are correct.
Maybe it does, maybe it doesn't, or maybe some people are just curious and are having fun discussing it. What does it matter to you?
