I get that the suits have names other than mark I, II, III, etc..., but does anyone know why this suit has 2 names (Starboost & Gemini)??? Just a curiousity really. :)

Thanks.

It has 1 name: GEMINI

It's been called both. You may prefer one name over the other. But sorry, starboost is an official name. From marvel. hot toys has it as the official name. The starboost name came from marvel.

Also...here's the new pic notice the name on the box?

Thanks for clearing that up for me & the picture..., definitely a good sign we'll be getting the figure soon if they've made the box. :)

I don't know what it's called in the comics, but the dual names and what you prefer to call it probably have much to do with where you live in the world.

"Gemini" is likely an homage to the American space program of the same name, whereas "Starboost" may have more appeal/resonance with people outside of the States.

That makes sense, I'm happy with whatever they decide to call the suits really, just like to know what it is I'm talking about so people know too, this suit has always been one that I'm unsure of because of the two name issue & someone I was talking to about it yesterday had to look it up as they didn't know Starboost was Gemini. :)

Starboost looks excellent. I love that color scheme so much. I'm going to have to pick one up once I get some rewards points or something.

I could see this actually being available for spook next year. By then, AoU figures will be up for PO as well as GOTG will be in stock.

It was called Gemini in the advertising before the movie came out.

It was called Gemini in the massive list of armors (I think from the art book for the movie):
Iron Man Wiki

And it's called Starboost in the Marvel Heroes online game:
Marvel Heroes Starboost

I think it was still called the Gemini after the movie came out, but Starboost came about a bit later on and hasn't gone away, in the US and abroad. Short of some conflict with NASA, I can't see why they changed the name.

I also wondered if there was a copyright issue with NASA, otherwise the name change did seem odd.. it's a shame, since imho, Gemini sounds better than Starboost.

Does it really matter where both names came from? Both names are correct. Both names are official. From the makers of the product.

I only said what I said earlier to correct someone saying it "has one" name. It's been called both names by marvel or thru marvel. Both are correct. Yes for toy purposes Gemini has a copyright issue. There are diecast Gemini space craft available from hot wheels and a dozen other companies. It may not have required a license fee or other trademark issues but I'm sure it also wasn't worth the risk of trying. Safer and easier to go with starboost. Does not change the fact that the suit has been called both things from its maker/owner. Think of it as a birth name and a nickname. Both are correct.

Apparently u don't know a joke when u see one. I know its called stupid starboost, Gemini stills sounds better and its all I will call it.
I don't need your correction like im an *****, I grew up with marvel comics. When this suit was announced it was advertised as Gemini
so that's what we all called it. Many people thought the new name " Starboost " sounded lame, myself included.

Always had my eye on this armor being one of the most unique in the Iron Legion, and I'm glad it turned out so well. Will check my finances if I can accommodate having this ordered :)
