Strange for it to go to wait list so fast I mean , I don't think any other retailer even has this in stock yet. I am thinking this is temporary until the get some restock after the holiday.

It's been on pre-order for over a year........

It was on pre-order when it went to wait list.

SSC never had any stock so there is no re-stocking.

Fast? I'd hate to see what you think is a long wait..

I preordered January 2014. It was available a few months before that. So it's been up for pre-order for like a year and a 1/4. So even if you got paid yearly you had time to preorder. Lol

True, anyone that has wanted this guy had plenty of time to do it. Plus im sure you can still order from a couple of other sites if you act fast.

All of you with supportive partners are so very lucky. It's great having someone to share and appreciate your hobby/interest with you.

Not that my situation is any different, luckily. Every time I go to order a new figure, I say, hey honey, isn't this cool? And then she just smiles and looks at me, knowingly.

And then I remember I'm single and I've been talking to one of my Premium Format statues again.

Well considering that this is the only Iron Man Armor to sell out even before it was released state side I would consider it as selling out fast if that indeed the case, I am surprised that it has gone on the wait list but I am thinking that is because their initial stock has run out , you are right this was on pre-order for along time and other retailers still have it in stock so for those that want him they can still aquire him.

I would like to ask side show if indeed this is it or are they expecting to get any more of him

This was up for pre-sale so lone they even had double rewards and free shipping on it

This isn't the only armor to sell out on pre-order. In just recent times Midas, Python and Hot Rod have sold out in days.

The Mark 3 exclusive die cast sold out in about a week.

From my perspective (which is only about a year) this is the only figure to take this long to sell out while on pre-order status.

I'm guessing you don't follow this hobby much or you would know that the only places that have in stock are in Hong Kong or got their inventory from Hong Kong.

SSC is the main distributor and have never had it "in stock".

Once they get it "in stock" they will distribute their wholesale orders and ship the retail orders. It will be possible to get one from SSC direct if you get on the wait list and if there are enough cancellations.

Yeah sorry bud. Nearly every armor since starboost went up has sold out in one way or another. The mark 43 exclusive went wait list in a week. That's 69 weeks less then starboost. (Rough estimate number. Give or take a few weeks. But it's my fav number so...yea). The mk3 also went wait list fast.

As for "is that it" and "more in"..they have not gotten any in. They have a predetermined amount they put up for PO. When it's gone that's usually it. They will also have DO (day of release) stock as well most the time. If a figure sells thru fast, or there are a fair amount of cancled PO's then the list may open up either from aquire of more stock or put the canx numbers back up. But those are not always going to happen.

In any case, sideshow has not received a single Starboost yet. No stock. As for others having it up for sale..they may have PO open. But outside of Hong Kong the figure has not gotten a release yet. So your still waiting if you order. I'm sure there will be some figures in stock at the usual dealers when the figures actually get released. But I don't think it's going to stay around long.

Yeah they do eventually sell out and that is even more so with exclusives , but all the non exclusives from iron man 3 are still available so much so they were offering discounts on some of them.

It just been a while since I have seen some thing go to wait list what the last thing was ed 209 and that was because it was heavily discounted and they were offering the reward points.

I think the last time I saw stuff sell out fast were the avengers and in particular Hawkeye he sold out before release even at other retailers hence his inflated aftermarket price.

Never the less is is one sweet armor.

:yess: Best post ever :lol :hi5:

I won't be surprised if this goes off the wait list and back up to order when SS gets them in. The ASM2 EX figure was wait listed for a long time then was available to order when SS got their stock in--same with Silver Centurion EX. It happens quite a bit with 1/6 scale figures and statues alike. Starboost isn't even a limited release and doesn't have an EX. It'll be back.

Again, there's that word..."fast". Unless you are comparing it to an interstellar trip or the life span of planets I can't see how a year and a half of availability for sale is fast. That's where we are diverging. You keep saying its fast...Midas, Python, mk3 all sold out faster. Since we don't know the exact numbers made its possible the "exclusive" DC mk3 had more available. And it went "sold out" as you keep saying (even though that's not the case, as only the preorder went wait list and they will have figures available when it actually releases) or wait listed the PO as is more correct in weeks. The Mark 43 in 500 days less time. There are plenty of figures that the PO goes wait list long before it's released. You are comparing the already released products that are out and on shelves to the closure of a PO. Apples and oranges man.

Yes the PO went to a wait list. No that doesn't mean it's sold out. It means they are not taking any more guaranteed PO (in you pre order sideshow promise they will have the figure) this close to the release because they hit the number they allocated and can't be 100% sure they can meet additional demand. But that just means you have to buy when it's released. Or hope others cancel their PO and a slot opens.

Had this happened 6 months ago, 8 months ago, 10 months ago, 12 months ago, 14 months ago then you could at least have a decent argument that this "sold out" fast. This has been on PO longer then half the current released figures where on PO and in stock and then clearanced. By the time this figure completly sells out, if it ever does, it could have been for sale for nearly 2 years, as its probably going to be February or March that it actually gets released.
My whole point has been...not fast.

Yes I get that feeling to unless everybody fell in love with this figure all at once. Maybe but we will see

It's either that or they were hesitant due to the price or were unfamiliar with the armor. Then they saw the blogger pics and YouTube reviews, were reassured and rushed to Sideshow, maybe even used a promo code.

Well I was comparing it to the other armors from the same movie has I don't recall them going to wait list and they have yet to sell out. The exclusives due to their limited number sell out at a much faster pace , but that is expected.

I mean I have been noticing that hot toys tend to hang around at longer then they did in the past maybe that's partly to increased in production or the price increase that tend to make buyers more picky.

Ok..you seems to not understand there is a difference between a pre-order being closed(after 16 months of being open) and a figure being sold out, or not, after it is actually released.

It's a HUGE difference. Massive. Ok, so maybe not that big..but still large. But even if you did compare them, which you really can't because what are you comparing...the time lengths are still pretty close. Even if this was completly sold out..which seems to be what you are thinking..it still took OVER A YEAR. You tell me how that's good or fast. Compared to anything.

As for same movie armors...this isn't the only one to wait list. Even from iron man 3. But given that we have no idea what the exact numbers are it's hard to compare. I'm sure this will be a lower produced figure them the main movie armors. Like 6 or 42 or 43. Probably much more inline numbers wise with the exclusive versions of each then the regular full plus exclusive. So let's say for fun, they produced 3 times as many starboost as they did mark 42 (same movie) exclusive...it still took five (at least) times as long if you cut the time in half to account for the number differences. Obviously I am just using non specific numbers as an illustration. And last I looked on sideshows site, almost every armor that has been released this far has been completly sold thru. Heartbreaker and silver centurion both sold out faster. And that's if you take the preorder time plus the retail time (which we have yet to get to with the starboost figure as it hasn't yet been released).

But even if they did not sell out it really doesn't matter to the argument. When anything is up for sale to be purchased at retail with no mark up for well over a full year you can not call it a FAST seller. There's not an argument you could make that would make it so.

Yo but who the hell caressss lol

These walls of texts and YA saying close to nothing for like 2 pages already...smh
