Maybe I missed something posted earlier but I was just on the SS site and the Starboost figure isn't listed anymore. Anyone know why? I was holding off until a few more rewards kicked in then order it when it was released.

I really want to order this, but I don't have the money right now. I hope some stores still have it in a month or two. :(

Then the delay is good for someone. (I'd recommend the flexpay system sideshow has. Allows you time to spread payments out over months...at least for future purchases)

It is waitlisted few days ago. To search for Wailisted/Sold Out item from Sideshow ;
Go to main page then scroll down to the bottom part look for "Search Product Archive"

I still don't get it. This may sound insulting but isn't your wife smart enough to realize that four monthly $400 payments are the same as one $1600 payment?

As for the interests I also don't get that.

If you have a $400 payment in January and it gets moved to February due to a product delay, why not just put the $400 in the bank and save it until the 2 payments hit.

The way some of you complain about paying for these collectables makes you sound financially irresponsible.

I could understand if SSC moved up your payment schedule, but they are extending it. Either you have the money or don't, paying it at a later date shouldn't be an issue.

it is insulting.

I dont know if you are married or not, but besides throwing off whatever monthly budget i have for this figures, which is an issue but not really what im stressing much because at the end of the day itll get paid off either way, trying to explain to your wife that youve allocated x amount of money monthly to spend on luxury dolls is not an easy thing to do....if its spread out over time is easier for her to accept it and not question it much....getting hit with a 1,600$ charge in one shot then getting bombarded with brown shippers and unpacking these in front of her, not only that but all of a sudden having 6 extra figures in a week is much better to accept than say 1-2 a month.....perhaps you dont understand the dynamics of marriage, but not every collector is lucky enough to have a wife thats into their hobby, mines accepts it in moderation, getting 6 toys at once is not moderate....hopefully you gain some perspective now.

Thanks. I found it. Do you think this is like some of the other "waitlist" pcs that haven't been released yet and will become available again after they've finally arrive?
I ask this because I've never seen a pc that wasn't an exclusive totally sell out before it's release.

sorry for de railing this thread, last one I promise.
I will pick up a Starboost (always preferred Gemini as a name) but when it lands in the U.K. is anyones guess!

Very Nice :hi5:

Yes I'll be going to Collectibles Direct for this armor, they estimate February

I agree on 99% of all Boba Debt post in this forum since he is a fellow solid iron man fan but as a married man i gotta agree on ksteezy on this one my wife supports me on my collection and even bought me my Midas and Workshop Tony before but i gotta say being bombarded with multiple toys and big chunk of money in 1month is harder to swallow than everything being spread out n multiple months.. Same reason why i flexed my order of 2 sets of 4pcs HoA to be delivered 2months apart from each other bec i dont wanna shock my wife with 2Very big boxes of toys coming in at the same time added to the other 1:6th figure that are being delivered =D

I just live with one motto in life for my marriage "Happy Wife, Happy Life" every little things to make a marriage run smoother is always welcome hehe

The reason that sounds insulting is because it is extremely insulting to say someone else's wife isn't smart.

it is insulting.

I have been happily married for 20 years so you could say I know a little bit about marriage dynamics.

I guess if your wife doesn't support you in this hobby it could cause issues.

Still don't get the problem unless your trying to sneak these in under the radar.

This line of confusion was directed solely at you and or married guys.

I know a couple of singles members that complain about all the payments hitting at once and some say they have to sell something to pay for what they preordered.

Just doesn't seem right.

Is like the financial aspect of it is annoying, because we all have our little system of purchasing the things we like, but when you have to take into consideration how a wife may react, that's when things get tricky, if I was a single dude with my man cave it really wouldn't be much of an issue except having to reworked my entire budgeting system, but I wouldn't have to worry about justifying what really is an unjustifiable expensive hobby to a wife that will never agree to this. This is just generally speaking on their delays since Starboost in particular was a gift from her, but I also ordered R2 months back, Starlord, Groot/Rocket, Igor and wanted Falcon...I'd hate if all these come together and take the shine away from her gift...which is what will probably happen due to these delays :( ...there has to be a better way to accurately estimate these US releases.

The problem is simple bro and if you have been married for 20 years then yes, I'd expect you to understand a little...receiving 6 boxes at once full of toys, as opposed to spread out deliveries....is a slower pace....she probably still has an issue with it, but I can find a better way to justify it without it causing a wreck.

I guess my lack of understanding is based on my lack of experience with this situation. My wife enjoys this hobby as much as I do.

We bought a bunch of figures during Spook and she was just as excited about getting them as I was

When we designed our house we included a room specifically for our Star Wars collection which later became part of our mega-den, this thread helps explain that:

I guess I figure that if you have the money to pre-order something, why should it be an issue it's late.

In your case there is the spousal dynamic. So If your able to do this with the full support of your wife you must be better at marriage then me I really mean that, I'm not being sarcastic)

Man you are blessed if your wife is as much into them as you are, my wife will support me in moderation id say...but a bunch of toys she knows cost north of 200$ each come in at once, I will have no clue how to explain that.

Man I not only have to spread things out I have to hide items as well. I am one that definitely sells figures to purchase others I may want more but it is not because I cant manage money. I don't have a lot of display room so couple that with a very grouchy HUSBAND:mad: and I have to be very selective on my purchases.

Masterobiwan and ksteezy, you two need to divorce your spouses and marry each other. j/k

I sympathize with your situations, I hear about it all the time a work but it's other hobbies like tractor pulling, hunting or sports.

I got very luck when I met my wife and I thank God for her every day.

But just as much as she loves the sci-fi stuff, I like the girly stuff such her Nao and Disney collection and the kitchen, which I built for her :)

But lets get this back on track.

Normally, I'm a patient collector, but I have to admit I'm getting anxious for this figure.

I think its funny that I'm going to receive Hot Rod, which I just ordered before I get Starboost, which I ordered last February

It's not anyone's business how someone else pays for their collectibles. If someone is rich and can buy everything they want then good for them. If someone is struggling to pay their bills yet still spends money they don't have on collectibles then that's their decision. Wife loves your collection? Great. Wife doesn't like your collection? I hope you still figure out a way to have one but take care of your relationship first. Or don't--it's your relationship. Getting on this forum and judging people for how they handle their finances is a Richard Grayson move--insulting a guy's wife is an even bigger Richard Grayson move. It doesn't matter if you can't figure out why it's an inconvenience for someone to have flex pays delayed. It's an inconvenience--sympathize and move on to discussing the figure.

My girlfriend rolls her eyes whenever I get one of these 'toys'...I try to be supportive of her frivolous purchases. I can see how the issue would get complicated with marriage and unification of spending/savings. I wonder if i'll get a whack for suggesting a HT based prenup... :lol

Lmao...it's ok guys, let's move on...I got Bobba's point and I see where he's coming from...he comes from a very rare place where ones wife is a mirror image of ones self when it comes to interests....most marriages don't have that...lol but that's for another topic...is actually cool to know this forum has so many adult married men and women as I've noticed, helps me transition her...I'm like "look babe! All these guys are married and their wives love their dolls!...so should you!" Lmao
