Wow. It is unbelievable the number of negative comments that can be generated by grown men from one lone pic of a TOY. Get a life, already!

The nit-picking is out of hand. If you don't like it, by all means, don't buy it, but don't make it seem as though it's really all that important if you think the "torso is a bit long" or the "legs are kinda short".

Argh. At first I just needed to find a job, now I need to find a pretty nicely paying job! Between LOTR, Star Wars, Indy, GI Joe, TDK and now this.. two companies get to have what money I have. :lol

Wow, you must not hang around the Star Wars forum much if you think this handful of comments is out of hand.

Yeah, if you guys want to discuss the positives and negatives of a figure then go find a discussion board...for...toys... Hey wait a minute... This IS a disscussion board for toys and collectibles! :lol

??? You new here? Every single thread in this place has pages upon pages of "nit-picking". Its the defining characteristic of the entire SS freaks community.

On that note:

Im not sold on this figure. All the wait got me very hyped up and maybe my expectations grew to unrealistic heights, but I was expecting to be blown away with this figure.

I understand this is a bad photo, bad angle, and bad pose, so my later impressions are subject to change, and I hope they do.

It has unquestionable Hot Toys craftsmanship, and is undeniably a fantastic figure and appears to be the best Iron Man yet. But it looks a bit 'off' to me. Proportions are not quite where they should be. I think much of this could be solved with torso articulation. So there is separation under the rib cage/chest and the abdomen.

He looks too stiff, long torso-ed and skinny. The chest lacks size. He needs more chin. He needs thicker hips. Needs to be more stocky.

Basically Hot Toys Iron Man looks like he would get his ass kicked by Movie Iron Man. (thx Darren for the movie prop image)

the custom shown earlier actually impressed me much more:

Nope, not new, just frustrated by all the negativity. Yes, the point about this being a discussion board is valid; I guess I just find it hard to accept the nay-saying after just one pic. I suppose my expectations are lower than most; I grew up in the mass-production licensed toy era, when the best we could get was Mego. Now, I realize at this price point, we should expect much more than Mego-type quality, but shouldn't we wait until we get all the specs and a full complement of pictures are released to pass judgement? :monkey3

VERY VERY disappointed. Come on Sideshow...it should be easy for you to beat these statue.

It looks like a $50 price tag. If they make a better base, then i'll like it. For now, it looks like a plastic figure that i can pick up at Toy's R Us.

I'll go with the Koto instead.

Whats with all the negative comments in this thread?....weve seen only one pic.

I decided to photoshop some minor changes to the design that I feel make significant improvements in the proportions- shortened the neck, separated the torso below the chest, separated the torso at the waist, widened the hips and legs, shorted the the abdomen.

Yaaaay. Now pay me Hot Toys.

Maybe it looks that way because it IS a 1/6th scale figure made out of plastic and is not a statue.

Ugh. I love how all these people ^^^^^ and moan about it and two things are really happening here. One, some are ^^^^^ing and moaning because they can't afford it or won't buy it and so they are talking themselves into not liking it and Two, some are just pissing and complaining for the sake of it and will be one of the first to click order when its announced.

The piece is perfect, one of HT's best. The only thing that is wrong is the fact that I probably have to wait two weeks before ordering it via SSC.

I think it's a superb looking figure and I saw the Actual Winston IM suit used in the Film displayed at Arclight. Yes, it seems the HT chest area may be a bit lacking and the legs seem slender but the figure itself looks amazing. Can't wait to see the Hi Res Prod pics Bravo HT!

And that RDJ HS looks terrific. And the fig lights up!

Holy ^^^^. I though I'd never see a "fan corrected' chopping of a Hot Toys figure.
