I wanted to find out why people felt that Hot Toys was a better deal than the Koto IM that also lights up for about $150, but it's poly, and not plastic. Does the poseability overweigh its plastic nature?

While Koto looks good, I would prefer the HT version just from the stand point that they have made similar figures before, and made them well. The Koto Irom Man is the first poly that they have made. I might be worng on that though.

Are you referring to the ArtFX versions? Even I'm new to Koto, but if you have examples for comparison, I'd be curious to look them up.

Nope. No examples. But if you have any of the Koto Star Wars stuff, that's what I am talking about. I believe the ArtFX are somewhat new. I am a novice at best when it comes to Koto. Like I said before, the Koto Iron Man looks great in their press pictures, I would like to see it up close before I make a final decision. I can at least go with HT's track record on similar items. It might even have light-up features like they did with some of the Terminator products.

I almost pulled the trigger on the Koto Iron Man because it really looks nice but with Hot Toys coming out with this news, I'm glad I didn't. My primary reason at this point for wanting something HT will do over Koto is the articulation/poseability. I like the stance that Koto has used for their Iron Man, but that's the only position he'll ever be in. Iron Man is an 'action' hero, so I think it will be fun to change him up.

Of course, if money were no object, I'd just get both...:lol

For me I'd rather have a poseable version of a character than a statue. And Robocop was an amazing combination of the aesthetics of the character but made into a very poseable design. I honestly don't think he could be better (except maybe a slightly larger chest).

If they can do Iron Man in the same way, he'll be a home run :rock

Ain't dat da truth. :D

Also, HT really did an outstanding job of mimicking the subtle coloring on Robocops armor. Not sure how they accomplished the look, but they captured it perefectly... something SSC wasn't able to do on the larger PF.

I wonder how articulation is going to work. Will it move like the CGI suit or the Stan Winston made practical suit/prop?

Knowing HT, they'll improvise and innovate.

To lazy to read through all the pages....so if its been said, my bad.

But Hot Toys will probably use the armored body that they created, for Iron Man.

Oh my goodness - my dream come true. Very cool news on this pick up by Hot Toys... now all I need is a TDK figure and my summer will be a happy one.
