It's hard to imagine a re release of knightmare since it was a toy fair exclusive. Maybe if they updated him like they're doing with avengers 1 Cap. Maybe give him a better coat, new BW Head and possibly a sick base with background are some things that come to mind. But who knows of we will even be seeing him pop up in the new movie. Everytime we think we know facts, new facts come out to contradict them. I'm still half on the fence that this will even all happen. I dont think I'll believe it till 5 mins before end credits start!!!

Anyway, the biggest mystery that I would love solved is the emblem . I wanted the fatter S from the proto pics and then when we got him, it was more narrow. So, I thought that they were ALL like this. But I keep seeing the fat S pop up and I'm struggling to fight myself on buying another in Hope's of getting one.. theres nothing wrong with the "normal" version, I just wanted the fat one because I missed the BvS release and it was identical minus the d.blue. is this eating at anyone else?

I recently got my Justice League Superman, and it has the smaller S (when compared side-by-side with the BvS one). I prefer the larger one also.

They just showed a clip from the snyder cut at the Justice Con with Superman wearing the black suit and it looks so good hopefully hot toys makes a variant

I'm a bit surprised more Superman figures have not been released, since Superman is one of the most popular and iconic superheroes out there. I thought maybe a the dark suit from the Zod dream sequence in MoS would be made since it looks like basically a color change.

Thanks for the great summary and comments on the suit. You've convinced me...going to pull the trigger.

I really hope HT produces the black suit version. It would indeed look amazing displayed with the Knightmare Batman (one of my all-time favorites).

Off topic here but I also hope HT reconsiders producing Cyborg too. Now that the Snyder cut is happening with an expanded storyline for him, it would be great to have a figure of him with the league!

If ZSJL is a hit we'll get Cyborg.

Yep agree. They were so far along with their prototype work as well.

There is actually a video out there analysing that the Snyder Cut can only be a hit. When you look at it a bit more it's pretty true.

1). The Snyder Cut is a major tentpole offering on HBOMax, so they will be calling it a smash hit for sure. If for no other reason than to drive subscriptions.
2). Online streaming services are non-transparent as far as how many watches a show or movie gets. So they can easily say it is doing really well, even if for some reason it is not.
3). With no box office data or metric for "success" (Note : a billion dollar box office is the bar which big movies "seem" to have to achieve, otherwise they are often deemed a failure, something which I hate). But anyway without this box office data You-Tube pundits and commentators are limited in the potentially negative info they have. Sure they will have their own voice and opinion on the film itself, which is only fair.
4). Industry execs (Warner Media + AT&T) who have seen the film apparently liked it enough to agree to invest the money. So that is a positive.
5). AT&T seem to be far better at correcting the course of DC movies. With the Fandom event coming up I'm hoping they also use that to explain the plan going forward. If fans know the rough plan (eg Superman or Batman arc), then there is potentially less negativity. So this gives more chance of universal acceptance of ZNJL, even for previous detractors who were perhaps misinformed.

So long story short, at this point unless the movie is not good at all and is universally hated by all people, then it'll be a hit in my opinion.

This is great for future content too. More specifically the final Batman movie with Batfleck or more Cavill Superman cameo's in other movies (already confirmed) and a final stand alone movie down the road to wrap it all up.

I saw that same video I believe. I saw it on a YouTube channel called something like Film Theorists with a ?Too big to fail? in the title. It seemed very well thought out and presented good points like the ones you summarized.

Yeah I get curbing enthusiasm before you actually see something. I may come across as too positive, but in reality I know Hot Toys are not predictable at all.

Your comment about the Con Exclusive immediately brought 2 Face to mind. He had been done only a couple of years before as a normal release, then came out again with new sculpt etc in 2019 as a con exclusive. Even though no-one was asking for him ??

So I say why couldn't it happen the other way. i.e Knightmare Bats from Con exclusive to normal release. I'd say there would be a little more interest in Kinghtmare Bats than 2 Face. But anyway, as I said, who can predict what Hot Toys does ?? No one but Howard.

All that said, he is still a long shot. Especially considering Cyborg and Black Suit Supes will be first in the queue I'd say.

Yeah it wasn't bad. But the psychology of it is an interesting topic. It often boils down to "everybody loves a winning team". Marvel has shown that even if they have a small hiccup here or there, then their momentum and universal appeal steamrollers over any negativity.

DC on the other hand was almost the opposite.

It seems AT&T know this and are pushing forward and believing in their product and vision. Something which the previous DC execs obviously didn't.

It's interesting now that with movie theaters probably not opening up for another year that nobody gives a **** about Rotten Tomatoes anymore. When you subscribe to a streaming service you've already paid to see any film that's available there. No more worries about deciding whether to spend $50 for a couple to see a movie at a theater. This whole dynamic makes critics irrelevant.

We're not going to see theaters open for at least a year, I predict. Theaters make their money with concession sales, and until people can remove their masks to eat and drink the theaters will remain closed. Even with a vaccine that works for Covid-19 I think the theater industry only awakens from dormancy via pricey monthly or yearly subscriptions. Like at least $20/month but maybe higher. Upside is you see any movie you want as much as you want provided a seat is available. Just before the pandemic shut everything down we were seeing that introduced (Regal Theaters in the US, maybe other chains as well). But subscription to the movie theater too amounts to the same thing for the role of critics. I think the hegemony of Rotten Tomatoes over the film industry is basically over.

So anyway, ZSJL is indeed "too big to fail" in the sense that the YT "too big to fail" video describes. But I believe it is also insulated from being critically bashed. Because the relevance of critics is being diminished by all these factors. The metrics of success of ZSJL are: 1) does it meet some sort of target AT&T has for it measurably driving up subscriptions for HBO Max? and, 2) is there a lot of social media conversation about it, which is the best possible free advertising they can have. And Zack Snyder has proven to be a maestro with that as evidenced by his very loyal and growing fan online community.

Jaxon, that is awesome! Are you going to repaint the cape to the charcoal color shown in the clip Zack dropped yesterday?

Agree with you on your theater subscription theories. I also wouldn't be surprised if, in an effort to build "fan loyalty", companies like Disney/Marvel, and Warner?DC began offering ticket subscriptions to their films alone; pay such-and-such a price, and you get first access to theater seats at new company releases all year. Sort of like season tickets for sports events, only with films.
Anyone have a link to the too big to fail video?

Yeah the whole Rotten Tomatoes rating thing got out of hand IMO.

But yeah, the proof in the pudding will be if AT&T move to more Snyder stuff beyond just this HBOMax series.

The way Zach and AT&T have handled the whole thing is a marketing dream. Complete turnaround. Topped off by the canning of Wheadon & Johns just before the big info at Fandome for fans and the public make up their own mind on what really happened. Anyway most normies won't even know the full story, but I think a lot will tune in to the Snyder Cut purely out of interest.

I'm convinced that it'll be a 6 part series at 40-45 minutes per episode. Maybe 50min if they add a few minutes to transition between episodes a bit better. Which is cool with me.

What did initially concern me was the aspect ratio. I initially thought oh no, it may look good in IMAX, but on peoples TV it'll look like a TV show from the 80's when watched on a modern 16:9 TV with big bars left and right. But assuming that preview was in the right aspect ratio the bars were actually very minimal. If the ratio turns out anywhere near the colour grading etc used by Zach it'll be fine.

I see Grace Randolf did also say she had heard from Zach that a Black & White version could be coming too. Now that would be cool too !! Noir Justice League :lol

Pretty sure this was the one I watched. The argument fell down a bit at the end, but in general I agree. Which is great for DC and hopefully the finishing of the arcs Zach had planned for Supes and Batfleck. That's all I wish for.
