1. Straighten the dreads and make sure it's not tangle. Wrap a piece of thin cloth (2-3 inches in height) around the back of his head to hold down the dreads.

2. Dip the head in a cup of hot water for 20 secs. Don't let the mandible touch the water or else it could soften. Or you can take off the mandibles.

3. Take the head out, remove the cloth and untangle the dreads. Note: The dreads will stick together if it's in water too long. Wrap the cloth around the head to hold down his dreads.

4. Repeat step 1-3 until the dreads reach the desire look.

FYI. Using rubber band could cause dents on the dreads due to the pressure of the rubber band.
