Is this scene really supposed to be that well known? It seems like they spoil a lot with the promotions and such for the 3DS version.
But as if anyone had any real doubts as to why the Sneaking Suit was chosen then that video should have clarified any last stragglers.

MGS 3 came out almost seven years ago. So, whoever missed out, well... too bad for them
. It's common knowledge that Snake and The Boss had a fight to the death. And yes, notice my lack of putting "spoiler" quotations. Also, Harvey Dent died in The Dark Knight, and Darth Vader was really Luke Skywalker's father in Star Wars.

This helps, not familiar with the franchise but I really was confused about whether Boss was a male or female.

Check out her ab area, the suit is zipped up half way and one of the straps is buckled, which means they can be buckled which should mean it can zip up fully and the others buckle too

Yeah, I can see that, because "Boss" is the woman, and the dude is called "Naked Snake" in this game, but is later known as "Big Boss," when he looked like this:
Yeah, I remember the MGS 1 demo for the playstation that just had the opening scene, and thinking how awesome it was.

Yep, my favorite trailer of all the MGS3 trailers. Coulda sworn there was an English version somewhere but could not find it.
I remember watching all the trailers that came out during the video game convention (forget the name that big one where they preview new games) and seeing the skull warpaint I thought it was so cool immediately started customizing a figure based on that image.

Man... The Boss threw Snake around like a rag-doll. He was only able to defeat her, because she wanted to kill herself to fulfill her mission.

Yep, used as a scapegoat to ensure the US wasn't to blame thus possibly leading to all out war, turning a cold one into a hot one. All because of Volgin! Even Ocelot tried to stop him! No wonder Big Boss turned rogue.
