Everyone keeps complaining about this and Naked Snake but you got to think... either grab these at retail price... or realize a year from now that you won't be getting anything similar for at least 5 years and then get raped on eBay.

My only issue is that it seems like their heads are too big for their bodies.

Wanting or not, there's facts:
1) head looks nothing like Charlotte Rampling;
2) standart small anorexic body dressed in a thick suit.

So it's not about "either grab now or then cry on ebay", no.
It's about how strong the sense of justice and beauty in you.

I can easily buy it, no probs. But everytime I'll look at the figure would think "And I bought THIS just because it was available... but it still looks awful for the time AND price... Man, what a waste..."

Dude I get that. But there is no other alternative in the forseeable future. Not doing anything to the sculpts/body/tailoring since the intial press shots seems to be a trend with Hot Toys nowadays. The only sculpt that was worlds apart from the prototype was Superman.

Come to think of it. the past figures of mgs figures didnt totally look like the ones me imagined them. Specially the mgs1 mcfarlene toys.

But hey the fans still bought em.

Since this thing is the closest we have right now for the boss I'd like to support it wholeheartedly.

Im not the biggest fan of The Boss so its easy for me to say no to this. But this is most definitely the only time you'll see a 1/6th figure of her at least until Kojima makes that game he was going on about. also any variant will still have that god awful sculpt

I would get the figure and wait for a customizer to make a better head sculpt myself, since other than the head i think the figure is perfection.

:exactly:

And I don't see Hot Toys revisiting MGS3 anytime soon aside from variants. I don't see Enterbay doing MGS since their more into doing obscure stuff and their Bruce Lee obsession.

:lol

TDK Batman (body and costume too);
TS Marcus (arms sculpt and material too);
BII Blade;
GR Rider (Skull);
T2JD T-1000 (minor changes, like ears);
REA Alice.

Not to mention some of those that was teased with one head and announced with another (P1 Billy and Dutch for example), or when proto head wasn't approved by licensor (MarkIII BD, DX Sparrow).

I didn't think the Supes retry was that different since i though the initial sculpt was amazing. They only seem to change sculpts for there biggest licenses (obviously). But then again we were only shown the final prototypes. Hopefully thats not the case in future

I think the problem with MGS is that they listen to Kojima/Shinkawa and judging from some Play Arts they don't know better for some reason???

Youre right Pliskin i think Medicom and HotToys will be the only 1/6th company that'll do MGS, but then again they are the best.

As much as I despise Hot Toys sometimes, I don't want Enterbay doing MGS and having the clothing dye the skin...

Enterbay is great for movie figures, but I wouldn't trust them to handle a license like MGS that has a lot of characters - since they'd most likely abandon the license after just one or two figures. I still can't forget about their 24 line and the Tony Almeida figure that never came into fruition (despite them promising to make one) :monkey2.

And as bad as Hot Toys is with their inflating prices, Enterbay in some cases is worse.

I remember spending $179 for my Jack Bauer figure back in 2009. Back then, that was pretty expensive for a 1/6 figure. So yeah, Enterbay is definitely more expensive that Hot Toys in some cases.

The retail price for Leon was like 230$ I believe, and I don't think I've read one good review on it. Skin staining and the bronosaurus neck :slap

seriously though its just the different lighting. These figures never look the same as they do on display with special lighting. It'll look closer to what we've already seen before.

look at play Arts Snake
